Took the ferry out to Catalina Island for a day in the sun and sand … and a Bolivar Tubo No. 1. It’s from 2014 or so; I can’t recall and the Mai Tai aren’t helping.

Interesting cigar - 89 for first 2 thirds and 95 for last third. I won’t be touching this box for few years now..

No doubt you've heard it said that patience is a virtue. I'd also advocate that it's a key tenet of our shared hobby. Whilst this is mostly true of aging one's cigars, I never thought that I would have to wait six years to have the opportunity to acquire a box of Montecristo Especial. Outside of Cuba, it just hasn't been around in constant and/or plentiful supply. I was especially enamored to get an LTO Mar 21 box code...

1946 Country Club Perfecto Clear Havana Very mild, but no musty taste, and the taste that was there was very good. Perfect draw, burn and construction too Good early morning smoke, and always fun to smoke something from that era Alec Bradley Mundial PL 5 Extremely tasty and great burn,draw and construction. Added to my bookmarks of favorites to buy again Punch Coronas Date unknown, but has to be 2009 or earlier since they were discontinued in 2009 Extremely tasty and very flavorful. Burn needed some correction initially but straightened out nicely. Draw was perfect Construction wise, wrapper peeled a little in 2 places, but not badly, so not a big deal Overall a very enjoyable after dinner smoke 1947 La Prosa King Clear Havana Very tasty and with a little bite on the finish. Mostly a nice woody flavor. Great burn, draw and construction too Definitely an enjoyable smoke, and made extra nice for its nostalgia

This aged p2 was a treat. Consistent burn and construction offering rich coffee and a subtle sweetness. Thanks for the stick @Glass Half Full

Perfect draw, burn and construction Really an all around great Cigar for a fairly cheap price. Wouldn't hesitate to get more for sure Montecristo No.3 Extremely tasty and perfect draw,burn and construction as usual. One of my all-time favorite smokes. Great taste, reasonable price, in right on 1 hour smoke time Davidoff Colorado Claro Short Perfecto Excellent taste and perfect draw,burn and construction Nice, short 20 to 30 minute smoke All around great Cigar, but comes with the Davidoff price tag unfortunately Flor de Ybor City Toro Sun Grown Another excellent Flor de Ybor City. Started w a “Party Short” but it was perhaps too young (2020) so left it after 10 mins and a relight (& rather than be glass half empty Instead went another direction entirely: 2017 R&J Piramide hit the spot, (It’s taking a bit longer than my wife would appreciate. Thank goodness for the Olympics! Feels a bit blasphemous to say that, …but I’m enjoying the moment:)

Bolivar Petit Corona ETP JUN 16. There was a very pronounced graham cracker flavor in the beginning that blew me away. Slowly faded at the end of the first third. I usually have to think really hard to get flavor notes. I love when they kick you in the mouth and there’s no doubt.

finally got the second shot. not easy. i get to the mall at the tweed - apparently in nsw, they do this stuff in the mall, not the hospital, but i really don't care if they do it in a broom closet as long as i can finish this. the phone refuses to acknowledge the nsw check in system. but we eventually work something and i sign in. this took ages and there is a long queue behind me and no one getting jabs. get in and the woman tells me she is the queen of this - and she sure as is. she was terrific. but of course, not so simple. where are your records from qld? i have none. she asks me all sorts of questions. i have none of this. i do say that i asked when i got the foirst one, for evidence. was told that was not organised yet. it is not that one hand does not know what the other is doing. it is that one hand doesn't even know there is a second one. the queen goes away and eventually comes back. she has apparently tracked me down. don't even feel the needle, she was that good. about two hours later, no symptoms but i am told that they could still come. might need an easy arvo with cigar and drink and book.

On vacation this week visiting the wife’s family in Rhode Island. Morning Reyes while “supervising” the kid. Father of the year prize can be sent to my normal address.
