Riverstyx Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Last night I was reading CA and actor David Harbour was discussing his favorite CCs. I started thinking - how do these celebs get them? Not that it's hard of course, but do they buy online? From travel? Each one know somebody? Is there a Hollywood "cigar guy" that sources for all of them? I remember seeing a large NY lounge got in trouble once...maybe the high end lounges are the source? Note: I'm talking about sources in general (not specific vendors) and this post was ok'd by @El Presidente
JohnS Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 I remember Laurence Davis speaking about Stephen Baldwin sourcing cigars through his business in a video recently. Vendors don't tend to name their customers for privacy reasons but I'd imagine a few of them (i.e. celebrities) get their stock through a personal relationship with prominent vendors. 2
Popular Post Rhinoww Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 That’s the problem for the personal assistant to figure out using the celebs money. 12
Popular Post Tommy_Tao Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 People easily get illegal drugs, how hard it could be for a passionate cigar aficionado? 7
Bazinga Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 I would do that job any time of the day, to be the personal shopper for celebs and treat my self for someboxes 3
Popular Post El Presidente Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 Over the years we have supplied many famous actors, politicians (both sides), writers and singers. Some use intermediaries. Most deal direct. 21
Cigarsmoker81 Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 I remember reading an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger in cigar aficionado and he said he had a cigar guy that supplied his Cuban cigar purchases 1
Popular Post Hammer Smokin' Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 Before it's closure, I was in the Toronto LCDH. A customer came in and asked if his order of FIVE boxes of Behike 54's had come in. I didn't recognize the guy, just some average dude. You can't even begin to imagine how much they would cost here in Canada, from a LCDH, with our taxes. I asked if the guy was being serious, 5 boxes of B54's? Owner of LCDH told me it was one of Drake's personal assistants. He said he sells many boxes of Behike 54's to Drake. 6 2
Popular Post rcarlson Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 Well, I just order them direct, like regular people. 3 12
Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 It's the only reason I'm here having to deal with all you lowly little people. 1 7

Joeyjojo Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 In an interview, Pete Johnson said in the 90's, when was still in retail, he used to go down from LA to near the US/Mexico boarder and had a guy that supplied CC. Apparently Pete would open and check as many as he could, keep the best ones and distribute them across a small circle of folks he knew from the cigar shop he worked at. I can imagine similar things still happening across high end cigar circles in LA.
JoeyGunz Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 I saw Boris Becker in Sautter's on Mount Street, London. 3
BrightonCorgi Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 They buy them the same ways we do. Traveling (duty free), online, from friends, and retail. They're really no different in that sense. Just like celebrities going shopping for food, etc. 2
Popular Post joeypots Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 I'll ask Michael Jordan and post his answer. 4 4
Popular Post Webbo Posted October 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2020 Would love to see a webcam of Jack Nicholson banging the refresh button 10 seconds after 24:24 has gone live shouting "little pig, little pig let me come in.." 5 1 6

He's somewhat credible as he has a huge inventory of aged stock. He told me he used to cross the border and shop at the various Toronto tobacco shops in the 80's and 90's. While he did not actually meet Jordan face to face, he would get calls from his him or his office to discuss what he was looking for and whom he'd be sending to do the transaction. He was one of many of Michael's sources apparently. 4
Bohemio Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Some of them are probably reading this post, maybe even replying. Arnold are you there? ? 3

I actually know who provides his cigars...not going to say, but it's not a trusted LCDH or anything like that (I'm sure he does buy from LCDHs when he travels though). 2
bates40 Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 De Caprio bought a lot of cigars in TJ when filming "Titanic"
