I will say it definitely has made me re-think smoking Trinidads. I used to be able to walk into any B&M in Western Europe and get a Vigia Tubo for 12-15 euros. Now that they are north of $50 per stick, I just can't bring myself to smoke any from my stash. As for Cohiba, it's been impossible to find anything other than Siglo I, II, Exquisitos, and Panetela for quite some time. Quality/taste really went downhill for me after 2013/2014 for Cohiba so I'm pretty indifferent to the 300% price hike there. My smoking is likely going to shift entirely to the robusto range - RyJ SC, PSD4, HDM E2, RASS, etc.. NCs still just don't do it for me.

Slim pickings across Europe in general. I found 90% of stock in most stores to be NCs. Might be able to find a shop or two that has a regional in stock.

Depends on where you go. I was just in France, Italy, and Germany and almost everything was dirt cheap to me aside from when I was in Paris. But yes where I live food has generally gotten way more expensive (California). Just the world we live in now I guess. If only we didn't print so much damn money!

Haven't smoked one in probably 4-5 years but I remember always being somewhat let down and would opt to go for a RASS or ERDM Choix Supreme instead. The Regio really had nothing going for it imho.

You're not wrong. Look at the new prices for the 1935 line 😄. Not sure how much more they want to piss off regional distributors though. No way I'm pay $40+ for any regional cigar unless it's a 109.

Was just thinking, I wonder to what extent regional editions will be affected pricewise. Also, wondering Cuban rum prices will be affected.

Except your average Joe Schmoe that's going to be buying those glass-top boxes isn't aware of price hikes and I don't think those that sling them on the beaches are going to be successful getting them to pay more. Biggest concern is highly realistic counterfeits that will likely find their way to market one way or another.

European retail on BHK if I recall correctly is 45-55 CHF or around 50 euros per stick. Only in recent years have retailers jacked up prices above 1000 euros for a box of 10. Heck I used to get the 54 for 20 GBP when they were first released.

Unfortunately I think it's going to be even worse than what we're expecting. Just look at other luxury markets like high-end watches. People are still paying $50k for a Rolex Daytona when suggested MSRP is $13k 😄
