After dinner I used the residual heat as the KJ slowly cooled down to roast some pecans drizzled with maple syrup and some salt. Delicious 😋 PTG MAR 20 BBF was spot on. Great idea on the pecans. Once my porch is done and the KJ moves from its current location next to the trash cans, I might enjoy trying that. For now it’s grill and leave 😂

I have somewhat recently smoked a few 2019's and 2020's and they were great as usual. The most recent few i bought are 2021's, and the one I have had so far was very flat, tasteless and disappointing. Hoping its just a fluke bad one and the remaining 2 are better. It was a 19. That is not uncommon for very young Cohibas. They don't take a long time to come around. Maybe a year or two, but until then, they tend to be flat. In my experience, you can speed up the process a bit by taking them out of the box and putting them in a singles drawer, when more oxygen comes in contact with them. As long as being in the singles drawer is not too much of a temptation to smoke them before they are ready.

I'll sit on the remaining ones and hopefully they'll improve and be as good as the 2019's and 2020's I have hadI actually keep all my smokes out of any packaging, aside from tubos, in all my tupperdoors so hopefully they will improve fairly quickly Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Popular Post griller
Siglo III (UPO DIC 20) The good: perfect burn, decent draw (after one good probing with a PerfecDraw); The not-so-good: absolutely dull, flat, and boring smoke from start to finish. Zero transitions, and the retrohale only picked up a faint sweetness and Graham cracker-like flavor. First time I've smoked a Siglo III in probably 6-7 years, and none previously were this bland. I'm seeing multiple reports that young Cohibas can be prone to this dynamic, but come around with time. I may try 1 more from this box, but I'm inclined to leave these alone for the rest of 2021. 20

I mean the whole meal does, but pierogies are excellent and infrequent.

Also fairly mild and mellow overall Perfect draw, burn and construction Padilla 88 Anniversario Robusto Box Pressed Very tasty and very smooth. Great burn, draw and construction DPG My Father Flor de las Antillas Belicoso Pretty good, but just didn't quite do it for me, so didn't make my bookmarks of nc's to buy again. Excellent burn, draw and construction though Not a bad smoke, just nothing special '14 Montecristo No.4 Excellent taste and perfect draw, burn and construction. Just waiting for the sun to finally come out. Very nice smokes. I have a few of my very first Behikes I'm being very generously gifted, being shipped out soon. Very curious to try them. Have my first Media Luna in my tupperdoor of smokes for this month, so still waiting to try it. Really looking forward to it too. Both get pretty universally good reviews from people so I suspect they will be a real treat. Happen to know the year on each? My Behikes are 2017 and the Trinidad is 2020. Always curious how much of a difference just a few years different production can make. @SigmundChurchill

Popular Post StogieSteve23
@SigmundChurchill Doc, thanks for this Senadores. Enjoyed it by the pool after a little lunch BBQ at my grandparents. You were right though. Need a couple more years to develop. Now awaiting my flight to Omaha. Any FOHer’s out there? 28

I just grabbed one from the humidor and brought it with me on vacation. I'm at my beach house, so I cant even check for you. The Trinidads are good young. At least the Esmeraldas and Media Lunas. I haven't had a Topes that really did it for me. Maybe with time. But the other two are ready to go after waiting the traditional 3 month for them to get over their travel sickness.
