Up late at the typewriter last night and lit up a G. Sierra Corona, actually a petit corona size. There's very little I can find out about the brand. They were almost certainly gone before 1959 as I know that the brand was not taken over by Empresa Cubana del Tabaco after the Revolution. I got this from a "local retailer" recently as a gift and, until then, they hadn't left the humidor in the shop since they arrived in Dublin 70 years ago. A lovely cigar. Great performance and delicate aromas of old leather and umami. Very very nice. Paired it with some Santiago 11. The tax stamp under the band is interesting to see.22 points

Sir Winston, I owe you an apology for smoking most of the box much too early. 2008 box and so far the best cigar I can remember in years. Photos won’t upload 😒11 points

Diplomaticos ER 2018 Belux El Diputado Extremely tasty and perfect draw, and nice appearance with only 1 thin vein and nearly invisible seams. Unfortunately, poor construction as the wrapper peeled badly and the burn remained off the entire length inspite of multiple correction attempts. Expected better for the price, but at least it was extremely good tasting. Hopefully the second one does better Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Belicosos No.2 Very tasty and perfect draw, burn and construction. Beautiful appearance too with only a couple tiny veins and nearly invisible seams. Will definitely buy more10 points

My mother brought this to me when she was in town in June. it’s my grandfather’s pipe tobacco humidor that he dented purposely as a pipe rest. Works great in the wind because of the lip and a lid when not in use. I love it. Grandpa died in the early 60s when I was too young to remember him. I love picturing him puffing away while I’m puffing away.7 points

Sancho Panza ER 2017 Belux Gran Quixote My first ER. Very tasty. A bit on the milder side in the first half, but great taste. Strength picked up a fair bit in the second half, and the flavor changed, but I'm not good at describing it. Still very tasty. Perfect draw and construction. Burn was a bit off the first half, which always happens to me with figarados, but a little correction and it stayed fine. Overall, a really nice smoke. Only the second Sancho Panza I have tried, the other being the Non-Plus which I didn't really care for much. This definitely hit the spot though. Joya de Nicaragua Joya Red Short Churchill A little on the stronger side than I typically prefer, but not a lot, and still very tasty. Excellent burn, draw and construction also '05 RyJ Exhibicion no.4 Still on the stronger side for its age, and has a little bite on the finish still. Great taste, draw and construction, but burn was off the entire length inspite of multiple corrections. Tasted just like the young ones I smoke, except just a hint mellower. Overall a great smoke, as these always are7 points

So the wife signed us all up for a 2 hour pottery class on a short break recently. I had never done it before. We were given 10 minutes instruction from the potter, on molding clay and the wheel, we had time to do one piece with each method. 5 minutes in, my wife says "You're not making a cigar ashtray are you?" "Well, I'm also going to make a bowl for the bands.." They just arrived today after glazing and firing. They both came out a little smaller than I had thought and the ashtray could have been deeper, with a better rest. I was trying to get something looking like a tobacco leaf, but it's a bit long and I should have had the veins more pronounced. But I'm happy enough with my efforts at a first attempt. It was quite a fun couple of hours too.5 points

Romeo y Julieta Giraldas No.4 . Dress box of 25 robustos. late 60s/early 70s, still investigating. Punch Nectares No. 6. This one is very very rare. MRN mentions the Punch Nectares No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 in the book. These were originally a J.J. Fox exclusive release but I have seen Nectares on the pricing lists of UK distributors for other retailers. Punch Nectares No.1 and No. 3 Ramon Allones Allones Grandes One of my favourite pictures I took today! Two boxes of Allones Grandes.5 points
