  4. Trying a QD50 out for the first time. I’m getting a lot of peanut from it! It’s going perfect with a creamy English Ale. I know QD wants to skim off the Cohiba heads with its rebrand as a luxury alternative but man it’s grassiness, and dried hay plus the ale tastes like the humble work and bountiful yield these farmers, thousands of miles away from each other have created. I’m a fan, now to not touch the other 9 of them ?

  7. H.Upmann No. 2 - 2018 single Travel mode first use of FOH torch! Very Firmus Drawus Spartacus. Brought me the PerfectDraw so saved another stick. The construction other than 3 knots is perfecto! Took some effort to knock off that ash. Got me some real Citrus Twang on end of first. Very nice. Huge dry nutz to start. A real nice cigar after a Texas Roadhouses Sirloin. Really taking down the jet lag and 2 days of airports. Cheers

  12. Freebie RyJ Short Churchill (thank you @Elpresidente), from a tubo so no date, but I guess 2018? Very thin claro wrapper, perfect firmish draw, classic Romeo rosewater sweetness and middle eastern spice, but dialled back a little compared to a darker, more full-on stick. Lovely morning smoke in the garden, just before the rain.

  22. Alright guys, just smoked a JLS2 for the first time since I got the box two years ago. Let me preface this by saying this is my highest rated cigar to date, tied only with a Davidoff Art Edition 2016, a $45 cigar. 96 points overall, the only minor flaw was a burn that self corrected. Loss of one point in each third the burn was wonky paired with a loss of a point in each third the burn was wonky for construction. If you have this box code smoke them now, they’re exquisite. This is going to be hard to beat, at $8 to boot! The full review follows. If you like my review and want to see all of my reviews check out my Instagram, Josh.hooper7, and if you want me to keep posting here let me know! Beautiful sheen. Awesome construction. Draw has the tiniest bit of resistance. (1/3) right away opens up a bit over medium bodied. Big toasted tobacco on the palate. Touch of pepper on the tongue. Cuban twang, bit earthy in the background. Bitter citrus peels on the nose. Leathery. Rich, velvety smoke. End of the first third gets the tiniest hint of sweetness. (2/3) picks up a creaminess paired with the citrus peel. Finish is still long and all rich tobacco with a spice on the tongue. Touch over medium bodied and medium strength. Didn’t expect this punch! Retrohale picks up a very interesting flavor that reminds me of breathing out of your nose after a sip of sherry cask whiskey. Burn is a bit wonky but self correcting. Oddly hoping something goes wrong because I can’t find any fault in this, it can’t be my highest rated cigar! (3/3) Final third continues medium plus in body. Rich and velvety smoke with flavors beginning to mesh. Spice persists on the tongue. Burn still wonky but self correcting, the only flaw here. Toward the nub the orange persists through the nose and a semisweet vanilla creeps in. This cigar... wow. Tied as my highest rated cigar with a Davidoff Art Edition 2016. Price aside this is an outstanding smoke, pair the rating with the price of around $8 and its value is untouched. If there was a value factor this would be a 100 point smoke. Final smoke time: 57 minutes. Overall rating: 96. Classic! Appearance - 5/5 Construction - 8/10 Burn - 8/10 Draw - 10/10 Flavor - 25/25 Smoke Temp - 5/5 Final Impression - 35/35

  25. That's a small Emporer One Japanese Maple tree in the backdrop and not some other plant it so closely looks like from the picture. I plan on planting them tomorrow The Maple is deep redish purple in color, yet the photo looks really cool with the leaves appearing black because of the flash on the camera. Anyways, ULA MAY 14 Quai D' Orsay Coronas smoking very well paired with a little Tin Cup Whiskey. Have a good week everyone! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  33. I mostly not big fan of VR. sometimes I had very good cigars, especially DA, but when I choose something to smoke, I usually take something else. However I decided to refresh my experience and got 14 years old Unicos for that post. the warpper is pretty thick, but good looking colorado maduro. cigar started with citrus, black coffee, bitter chocolate and a bit of earth. medium strenght. second third raisin, earth is gone, espresso instead of black coffee. then fruit and nuts mix with light sweetness. last third cigar got more brutal. a bit woodsy, coffee beans and baked raisn bun. amazing cigar, 93/100

  46. This La Fuerza I smoked yesterday was amazing. Got the pancakes and syrup description in spades. Unfortunately, it was a cheer me up smoke after one of the starters on our starboard engine took a crap before our salmon trip. Luckily I smoked limits of salmon for 4 on Thursday including one of the biggest salmon caught in the young season here in the Bay Area! Spent the rest of Saturday rigging up salmon killing rigs!
