I have bellied up to the bar there many times! One of the places I truly miss as I do not get up to Chicago nearly as much as I used to.

Let me know the next time you do!

French Mussels....Bisou Bisou ....long lunch...MAGNIFICENT!

Haha, same idea here last weekend. Nothing fancy, but sometimes you just got to give in to your craving for mussels.

Great to eat some crab

God how I wish I lived in a country that wasnt 'gastronomically challenged' when It comes to seafood.   How heart breaking to know that our passionate hardworking fisherman go out, and either A. catch a magnificent bounty and sell it to the French or B and to throw it dead back into the blue.             I hate living in a dull cod obsessed nation.  Oceans all around! And not a drop to drink

I know what you mean. I plan my holidays around where I can get decent sardines and barbouni!

Good man. As proud as I am for a great little culture of fish and chip shops, the bi-product is a culture of people of that are terrified of fish that doesn't come in the form of white cubes......it's pathetic

No photos as we were “in the moment” but I was in Philly last week w my adult kids. We went to a Japanese restaurant Double knot downtown. We were seated in a bench in a corner covered in pillows and lit by an array of candles. The food whisperer in the table next to us said he and his wife had just completed the 10 course chefs meal. $75 or so. He said it was exceptional- worth $250/head. It’s a tapas style sushi etc themed restaurant. A quick look at the menu and we were going to get handgrenade close so we went for it. Each dish was better than the last. Tons of food. Big eyed tuna sushi roll was notable as was the fried chicken. The food whisperer left before we had our first dish but man was he right. An exceptional meal w my wife and kids. We will repeat.
For those in Philly, it’s worth the effort. We left at 9, and every table in the place was still full. A great mix of ambiance and food.

It’s really hard for me to order a steak out at dinner with the KJ on the deck and a nearby butcher with prime cuts. That tomahawk looks great.
