Royal Corona PUS MAY 19

Inspired by all the chatter recently, I fired up an HUHC while I was getting the grill ready.  Figured it would be a good time to test some thoughts being shared. Cheers, FOH!

Been rummaging through the NC keep of late for a change of pace. Came across this Torano blend A-008. Released in 2011 so probably about 10 years on it. Most likely a cigar shop "cutting fee" cigar....

Still quite peppery and full bodied it does present some decent black coffee, cinnamon and cedar notes. Deep earth. A bit  of dryness on the palate.

Marketing states it has a special leaf from Ometepe, Nicaragua. NC Media Tiempo?

Regardless, not my cup of tea.

My friend gave this to me Saturday. I cannot wait to have one.
I don’t know if this is still too dry.
Base on the one I smoked just now, it’s medium, cedar and cohiba flavor, a little bit sweet, and a tiny little bit spicy from last 1/3.
Nothing phenomenal and nothing wrong with it.

I got it from my friend last Saturday. It was a bit dry but definitely got better today.

Remarkable.
Light to medium, very creamy, hint of sweetness all the way.

Petit Edmundo MLU ENE 18, first of this box. Tasted good, but wasn't impressed with the burn, had to overheat it basically to keep it burning which afflicted the taste past the band.
 

They're excellent! I just found out about them within the last couple months.  As a big MF/Tat fan, I'm kicking myself for not smoking them sooner! Excellent stick!

For someone who plays once or twice a year, she hits it pretty well (when she doesn't try to kill the ball).

Scrolling through the Daily Smoke thread yesterday and I see @Kaptain Karl post a Famosos he smoked the other day.  Prompted me to pick one out of my box and see how its aging.  Just over 2 years on this box. Nice vanilla bean, sour cream, slight cedar and balsam retro.

Jan 2020 BRC - a true delight. Surprised it was so good so young - not a bit of harshness to be found. Had a run of plugged or otherwise not smoking great cigars. Only takes one good one to make you remember why you bother! Good way to pace myself during the work too!

This is either a 2018 or 19 code ...very very good, but based on how aged ones taste, specifically 2012 code, these still need some time...been smoking a lot of larger rg cigars lately and this was a reminder of how comfortable the corona gorda really is !!

I prefer the larger rg cigars typically, but do smoke some Petit Coronas too, due to budget constraints and there are a number of excellent PC's

Sorry you had a bad experience, that’s a real bummer, I’d say any I’ve had from 19 and 20 don’t reflect that woody characteristic of years gone by.  you should give them another whirl they are tremendous lately.  I wouldn’t say it’s like the Topes/Esmerelda profile, nor is it like the Reyes, it’s somewhere in between.  Dark Coffee, Black Tea, hints of honey, touch of shortbread, not creamy but velvety, not sure how else to describe.  

Nor have I paid $300, anything further on that point feel free to PM.

2x RyJ Sports Largos for review.

First one had a tight draw and didn't taste right so I went for a second one later. A lot stronger than the others from the box. These two small Panatelas hit me harder than the double corona and Cazadores I had recently. My gums/lips are still tingling.

Fast burning Mag 50 on a sales retreat. Struggling with some gut stuff yet again so my palette is crap. Luckily it’s not nearly as bad as last spring but I’m wiped out. And this mag 50 disappeared in an hour...I’ve had PC’s last longer!
