Popular Post X-Man Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Silky smooth chocolate, coffee taste. Can never get bored of this cigar. 28
Popular Post GVan Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Visiting @Devo and these are two out of his humidor! The RGPC from '17 was all walnuts and toasted tobacco. The HdM DeLuxe was much more complicated; ATE AUG-19 and tastes of croissants, hints of salt, cedar, butter and creme in the middle third with hay in the last third. These will be awesome with a little more age -- if they get there! Post golf afternoon cigar - Oliva V Melania Robusto that has about 3 years in the humidor. It's beautiful here in Indiana; golf course rough is a lush 3", the fairways are a stunning deep green and the Hydrangeas are in full bloom as well ! 25
Popular Post Paso Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Punch Punch last one from REG AGO18 lovely box Monte DE BRE SEP 19 25
Popular Post StogieSteve23 Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Unknown code Choix Supreme that I got as a single from FOH a little bit back. Pleasant smoke. Honey, florals and a slight vanilla note in the final third. Just got these Nat Sherman 2020 TAA's in and figured I'd give one a try ROTT to see if its worth going after another bundle or two. A very pleasant medium bodied smoke. Fresh leather, buttered wheat toast, nutmeg retro. Flawless construction. 2019 RASS - Molasses, charred oak, dried raisins, sweet burning cedar smelling smoke. 31
Popular Post Bijan Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 C&C with an hoyo epi 1. Better than the last one still a lot of wood flavour but just a bit heavier. 25
Popular Post sw15825 Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 2007. These have held on to their body and strength very well over time. They are just filled with soft flavors of wood, cherry or mixed berries, leather and subtle notes of spices. Hints of powder sugar sweetness come and go at just the right moments. Although I don't have a sophisticated method to score cigars and a number just comes up in my thoughts after I smoke a cigar, I'd put it at 95 points. Flavor and construction as most heavily weighted followed by aroma and complexity. Of note, I have been experimenting with wetting the wrappers on some of my older cigars with positive results for the most part. I did a quick dip of this short churchill in distilled water before going to work on it. It did indeed make it more flavorful than the last couple I smoked from this box. 24

Still a tad muddled in the first third at least. I really like P2's with some age on them they can round out into tremendous smokes and seem to have an above average performance with contruction and flavors. I have some 2005's from the original released batches and they are not as good to me as the 2008/09 vintages and later. To me its a cigar that got better and better over boxes from later years. Usually it seems the original releases are sometimes better than later versions, but doesn't seem the case with the P2 imho.

More coffee, twang slight earth and cream then Caramel now but hopefully that will creep in later I have set my '17 PLPC out of my mind for many months. Thanks for updating progress on these. 2

lovethehaze Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I have set my '17 PLPC out of my mind for many months. Thanks for updating progress on these. I hadn’t smoked one in the same maybe 5-6 months. Last one was very harsh but this one smoothed out a lot. Was nice. Give one a try ....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Por Larrañaga Petit Coronas LGR Oct 2019 In general, it takes quite some time for Por Larranaga Petit Coronas to develop a dominant caramel profile. Whereas a Por Larranaga Montecarlos may typically take 1 to 3 years to develop a dominant caramel characteristic, the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas may take 5 to 8 years to do so. In the meantime, when young, Por Larranaga Petit Coronas are noted for having 'punch' and 'bite' to them. Today's Por Larranaga Petit Coronas didn't have as much caramel and honey notes as my last one around a month ago, nor did it have much 'punch' or 'bite' to it. It mainly smoked like a young PLPC; that is, it was mainly woody and toasted tobacco. Thankfully it did have a layer of molasses sweetness to it in its core which kept me interested. At least the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas is still around. With the recent deletion of the Sancho Panza Non Plus, in my view, the PLPC is just one of 5 premium marevas-sized Habanos cigars still in regular production (the others are the Bolivar Petit Coronas, Cohiba Siglo II, Montecristo No.4 and Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas. Do note that one could argue that the Bolivar Tubos No.2, Montecristo Petit Tubos, Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe No.3 and Petit Coronas are in the premium class of marevas-sized Habanos cigars, but in my opinion they are not. Also, I think a little more time is needed to judge whether the Partagas Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings retro-themed additions to the regular production catalogue are of premium quality). 24

To pick your brain a little, I enjoy the spnp a lot along with aged PLPC as I consider them to be of medium (or a little under) bodied. I also enjoy the Siglo 2 and mc4 but I think they are a tad heavier. Which of the other marevas-sized cigars would you consider to be of a similar light-medium body that I could try? Young, if possible - I cannot afford to buy aged while I would like to have some inventory to smoke now

If you've not tried it, you owe it to yourself to give it a go. (It's) An FoH forum favourite. 3 1
