Romeo y Julieta Churchills GOM Ago 2018

Out of the myriad box codes of Romeo y Julieta Churchills I've enjoyed in the past three or four years this GOM Ago 2018 one would be my least-favoured, critically-speaking. That's quite a testament to how consistent I've found the Romeo y Julieta Churchill since its low ebb, for me, in the mid-2010s and earlier when it seemed every RyJ Churchill I tried was just bland toasted tobacco (and I mean every one!).

It wasn't that this one was that bad either. Sure, it had fruity elements of cherry, sweet notes of turkish delight, rosewater essence and anise/licorice and core flavours of cocoa and nutmeg but that toasted tobacco dominated at times, especially in the back half and the number of re-lights on this cigar grew to be too numerous to ignore to chance or anomaly.

Even when RyJ Churchills are like this one today, I can still live with it. I was fine to smoke it over two-and-a-half hours reading a good book and enjoying the mid-afternoon winter's sunshine complimented by two or three quality espresso-flavoured coffees. But deep down, I still yearn for my next one to be better!

Romeo y Julieta exhibicion no 4.

Used the 12mm punch on my new  3 size punch cutter for the first time. Guess 48 RG is about the minimum for a 12mm punch.

Need more data but seems my old 8mm is good for 36-42 RG. 9mm is good for 40-49 RG. And 12mm for 48+ RG. Haven't used the 7mm yet but I'm guessing it's be good for 30-36 RG.

I agree. These have been a good one to go deep on in the past 2 years. I rarely miss a clearance. Even when they aren't the full chocolate cherry espresso bomb, probably the best value cigar right now, considering churchill prices, and the ones that are 'on' early are better than their expensive vitola-bretheren, imho.

Yesterday, it was early on a Sunday morning, with not too many people out yet, so I smoked a CPE on a bench in town outside the coffee shop.

And this morning, a Siglo VI on the drive home from the coffee shop.  Sorry for the out-of-focus cigar, it is sometimes a challenge driving and taking pictures at the same time.

Doc, I'd be curious to know how many people end up in your hospital - or worse - because they can't stop playing with their phones while they're driving.

Hard to say.  I am rarely in the ER, so I only see them when it is bad enough that they need to go to the OR.  But, distracted driving is a major cause of automobile accidents.

FWIW, I was moving at a crawl, on a road with no cars other than my own.?
