I've only really had better luck with more aged ones.
A little bit meh/muted to start with, not really into the first third yet so plenty to go.
Discovered a little tax work around the past couple of months which is a slightto HMRC, wish I'd known about this years ago.

Thanks! Not my first but definitely my biggest purchase! And will likely be the house we raise our 18 month old boy in (plus any others that show up!)...so big day! Yeah I can imagine the follow-on costs!!! That is what has me worried!

Rested in humidor only 11 days

Dry boxed for 20 hours @ 55% rh

Smoking conditions: 62F at 82% rh

Straight cut with a nice divot

 

First Third

Started with toasted tobacco, bit of leather

Perfect draw

Lots of smoke

Muted flavors but I can tell there is more in there

Slightly uneven burn but I would not call it wonky

Just the slightest hint of salty sweetness on the finish

 

2nd Third

More powerful flavors develop

Walnut

Still a lot of smoke with a similar burn.

The ash has held and no touch ups required. Draw is still perfect.

Salty sweet really coming through now

Ash fell off at end of 2nd third

 

Final Third

Had to puff a little harder to get it back to full smoke after the ash fell off but did not relight.

Walnut toasted tobacco dominated the flavors here. Very enjoyable.

The sweetness faded toward the end.

Hit of bitterness at the end

Burn was wonky at the end and required the 1st touch up.

Last flavors of just toasted tobacco but still LOTS of smoke output and never went out on me.

Finished decent with no bitterness and toasted tobacco dominant flavors with just the slightest sweetness.

 

Final comments

45 minute smoke

Decent morning stick. Really wasn’t complimented by the coffee but wasn’t hindered by it either.  Started out at an 87. Moved to a 90. Finished at an overall 89.

Reminded me of a not as sweet 17’ El Prinicipe but yet brought in the walnut that made it its own.

Monte 2 LUB FEB 14. Bitter dark chocolate with some leather notes. No cream in this one.

I am not a big fan of current production Hoyo. Maybe I just have bad luck and have just been stuck with some bad examples. But these du Depute hit me right in the feels. Completely unlike any of the other Hoyos I've tried. Ton of flavor in these tiny sticks.

Yesterday and today.  

Tatuaje MBS.  Bought em yesterday and figured I'd give one a try while running some errands.  Full bodied smoke for sure but not too much pepper which is nice.  A clean tobacco and almost burnt almond flavor. 

Tatuaje TAA 2020 - This thing was flawless from start to finish.  Sumatra wrapper which I've always enjoyed on smokes.  Minimal spice, hazelnut and toasted coconut flakes throughout. Burn line, combustion and draw were impeccable. 

BRE NOV-19 Connie 1 on some Zoomies last night. 

RSG 54 on the course today.

It really sucks living in a subtropical climate. This muggy air is just killing my smoke sessions. A little humidity is normally not a problem so long as your smokes are kept below 65% but when the ambient levels are close to 90% it causes major burn issues, at least in my experience.?
