Hibauchery Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 To me, it looked like Will tried to laugh it off. Then he saw the look of pain on his wife's face, saw red, and reacted as a husband. I'm not excusing it, but I understand it. 2
Popular Post ElJavi76 Posted March 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2022 Kanye is somewhere thanking Will Smith for taking the torch. Will is the new Captain of the SS Crazy And I’ll preface by saying I kid. I think Kanye is a musical genius and sly like a fox. Until he catches Pete Davidson in the street. Then he’ll just “Will Smith” him. 5

Ford2112 Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 I want to care. I do. But with the amount of rape and pedophilia in Hollyweird,I just don't somehow. They need an overhaul. Will Smith sucks anyway lol 4

Will Smith was laughing but he may have been slow to get the joke. Don't agree with what he did but Chris Rock was a bit out of line with that one. I think you have a few dynamics going on here. First, I agree, if it was "just a guy" who had malicious intent one would be much more likely to be triggered and "cross the line" physically so to speak. But you're dealing with one of the most famous comedians of all time telling a joke he possibly didn't write, and who almost certainly has no genuine malice towards you or your family. Context and intent are both important when responding to anything Second, apparently the wife has been quite outspoken about her condition, and while certainly a legitimate and serious condition it is far from disfiguring or terminal or life-changing in any way. It's not cancer. And it's a condition that she has been quite notably putting into the public sphere and not like something she told Rock in confidence an hour before. And finally, the joke was a very simple one and Will is a very smart guy. He got it, and he found it amusing because, quite frankly, it was. He clearly responded not because he felt his wife was disrespected but because his wife was unhappy and he needed to repent for initially laughing. He also wouldn't have slapped Dwayne Johnson or Jason Statham or Dave Bautista. 4

Popular Post mprach024 Posted March 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2022 “He insulted his wife” ”She has a disease” ”There’s history with their marriage” Yada yada yada. He acted like an absolute buffoon and disgraced himself on national tv and his family on a night that was supposed to be his triumph. Don’t care if he’s black or white or Asian, he hit a comedian half his size who had his hands behind his back and then gave the lamest excuse in his speech. Punk. Hollywood hypocrites better cancel him, or their future whinging will have zero leg to stand on. He could have verbally destroyed Rock in his speech, and Rock would have been the villain. Instead he laughed and THEN resorted to violence. Rock is being applauded for his professionalism and Will is now a meme. He failed miserably and was lucky he didn’t get escorted out by security right on the spot. Had I been in charge I’d had his ass thrown from the building. RIP Will Smiths career. 5

The more we talk about it the more we respect Chris Rock and that he mustered the class A high road instead of excoriating Will Smith. And he had it on his tongue, you could see it after watching a few more times.
SMELTZ Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Defending his wife? It was a joke by a jokester and it was probably Chris Ricks most tame joke. Will Smith and his wife are offended? What’s offensive is their open relationship that has Jada having affairs behind Will Smiths back. Now that is offensive to their kids and to Will. Violence was not the answer for a joke, now put your hands on my wife and it’s on, but a joke? Will Smith laughed until he saw his wife’s reaction and then he felt he needed to defend her integrity, which is not all that high with her admitted affairs. 1

When one's wife is upset by a marginally offensive joke told by a legendary comedian that even you found amusing I believe it to be one's responsibility as a husband to tell their wife to get over it. 4 2

Chris Rock's recovery to continue on like it didn't happen showed his professionalism in getting things back on track. Rock had his hands behind his back and couldn't defend himself. That slap was definitely a punk move. His IG apology to Rock was just another PR move to try to repair his tattered image. 1

Rock just expected social etiquette to protect him. 1
Popular Post rcarlson Posted March 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 29, 2022 Sorry to disappoint, but. . . Will Smith's brutal smack of Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars ceremony was a "choreographed Hollywood display", one body language expert says. Celebrity psychic and body language expert Inbaal Honigman has explained that the incident comes off as a "back-slapping display" which saw the two men appear "dignified" and "leisurely" - at least on the surface. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/smiths-oscars-slap-choreographed-hollywood-26574442 Celebrity psychic and body-language expert? KCCubano Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 The scariest thing about all of this is how many members watched Oscars! I am 58 and like Rob have never watched that POS show! Maybe just maybe I would for a free box of Siglo VI. 1
