FOH Top 25, 2021

We commence our FOH top 25, 2021 from tomorrow. Starting at number 25, we will work back in lots of 5 over the next week. 

It has been a tough year in terms of supply on one hand and a brilliant year in terms of quality on the other. 2021 will indeed be remembered in the Cuban cigar world as one where quality was where it always should have been and supply was nowhere to be seen. Prices went north and many Habanos retailers around the world laid off staff and faced going to the wall.  The Habanos landscape will never be the same again. 

I  will post 25-21 tomorrow.

Hard to pick just 5 as I’m sure everyone is experiencing lovely results with so many.

#1 - Partagas P2

Party on fire, D4 and Lusis could easily be on this list but since they’ve been good a while I left them off.  Probably best D4s maybe ever but P2s were on no one’s radar 3 years ago.

#2 - H Upman #2

Was really hard to pick which Upmann to pick.  Mag 46, Mag 50, Connie A all could’ve made it and they’d be worthy.

#3 - RASS 

Probably the biggest no brainer to anyone who’s smoked through a few boxes in last couple years.  

#4 - Monte #2

Should also be on everyone’s list, in my weekly rotation since 2003 and haven’t seen this consistency in what used to be a very inconsistent cigar.  As good any Cohiba or Trinidad right now for quality and depth of flavor.  If you enjoy the Monte profile you’re a fool for not stocking up.

#5 - R&J Churchill

My toughest pick being the last.  Hard not give Epi 2, Rio secco a place as HDM deserved recognition for its comeback from boring old Hoyo.  Punch Punch deserved a spot, had it been a top 6 list I would have picked this.  Even harder not to give Trinidad Coloniales or Topes a place either with how incredible they’ve been.  But….the RJ has just been a wonderful smoke, a true joy in my favorite format so I’m biased probably, and let’s face it these were garbage for 12-15 years.  So nice having this back in rotation.  As good as anything else on the list.
