Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted May 31, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 31, 2021 Was gifted an NC this past week -- a Sin Compromiso Espada Estoque -- which was very kind. (There are folks here trying to take me over to the dark side :) It lighted beautifully, and promised a rich, delicious smoke, which was delivered. My challenge is that I find it a bit one dimensional -- and it's the progression of flavours that keeps me coming back to CC's. It was delicious. Though, to my taste, a bit uninspiring after an hour of the same flavour. ...I will say that the nub is trending upwards, a lot, and I'm thankful for the experience. Nice excursion, but this experience keeps me in the CC fold. For what it's worth... 17

Would happily get more if I spotted them on sale though, as they were very tasty. Not sure I buy the backstory on the Anejados being as aged as is claimed, but honestly haven't smoked enough aged Cigars to really be a good judge of it How are they? I have a 2019 and a 2017 i was generously gifted but have never tried one yet. Big HDM fan in general. Lots of excellent offerings For me the Upmann, Monte & Partagas Anejados are good cigars but not great so far. Totally enjoyable smokes. Yes, I agree on the high price & also the backstory... The HDM Elegantes was quite tasty. Mild to medium in strength. Typical Hoyo taste - woody, hints of spice, sweetness came in after the first third. A very enjoyable smoke tis one. Cheers

Popular Post smbauerllc Posted May 31, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 31, 2021 1998 Punch Super Selection No.2 Extremely tasty except for some bitterness in the aftertaste , but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the experience, just a little disappointing. Perfect burn, draw and construction Hopefully the second one I have that was also generously gifted doesn't have the bitterness. Wish these were still in production. I liked the dimensions of the vitola and think they would be pretty tasty even young. Discontinued in 2002 though, so likely the 2 I have will be the only ones I ever get to smoke Cohiba Coronas Especial My first one. Outstanding smoke. Great taste and perfect draw, burn and construction. May overtake the Robuso and Siglo II as my favorite Cohiba Hopefully they are back in stock by next month so I can order more. HDM Elegantes My first of these. Typically not a fan of the figurado, but I like Cuabas and the AF Hemingway line, so certainly not a deal breaker. Very tasty and excellent draw, burn and construction. Would glady smoke more of these Trinidad Vigia Granted, only my second one of these, the other having been smoked about a year ago, but these just aren't for me. Both tasted only like bitter tobacco and nothing else, burned fast even at a relaxed smoking pace, and aren't exactly cheap. Excellent burn, draw and construction on both, but being so quick and the taste just isn't for me. Odd, since I have loved every other Trinidad I have had, but will just stick with them instead 34

Have smoked a lot of recent production BBF's and they are one of my all time favorites, and definitely my favorite Bolivar. What differences does the age make flavor and strength wise? 16 hours ago, Edicion said: Is this one of the Dutch bands? Not sure of the exact country its from, but I'm told a number of Scandinavian and other countries add them. Definitely not a Cuban band as it was easy to remove unlike the glue crazy Cuban bands, lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 3

But I think they were unbanded and Corona Gorda vitola (same as Punch Punch). If this is a Coronas Grandes (Siglo III size) then it's a Super Selection No. 1. 1

My palette wasn’t great last night, but I’d say more tannic, more earth and spice and less cream/sweetness as with a good more recent production BBF. It had a lot of strength to it as well. You could tell it’s a different tobacco strain than what they’re using today. I know some guys love that style, but personally my favorite BBF’s I’ve had were more recent production (2014-present). 1

I know some guys love that style, but personally my favorite BBF’s I’ve had were more recent production (2014-present). I really enjoyed the BBF from 2004 -2014. Took a hiatus from cigars from mid '14 to this past January, only smoking maybe 20 cigars a year during that time (job, family, and kids pretty much eliminated the time and financial justification). So, today I decided to revisit the BBF with one that has been sitting in my 'dor since 2013... TL;DR - great flavors, but tunneling issues due to a fireproof wrapper ruined the experience. To mirror KKs comments I'm one of those guys who loved the blend & leaves they were using for the BBF at that time. The flavor evolution from aging lived up to my expectations, but I had to toss it just after half the cigar because I got sick of fighting the burn. So, for me, aging this cigar didn't work out, and I should have smoked it years ago. But get one from that period that is well constructed, then you'll love how the strength and earthy flavors level out to a smooth, refined experience. Will stick with current production BBF & "smoke now" if they're on. Aging won't be a priority. Edited May 31, 2021 by griller Pics added 23
