Leaving Rome tomorrow… did a food tour in Pratti and it included a stop at Bonci Pizzarium. This dude has been called the Michelangelo of Pizza. W the actual F! Best pizza I’ve had in recent memory. The rest of the food tour was great but who cares… this pizza couldn’t be topped. If you want to see what this guy is about… Netflix. Chef’s Table Pizza series episode #2. Gabrielle Bonci. True food artist.

My homemade chili featuring homemade chili powder made of toasted chilis, spices, and a touch of chipotle chilis in adobo sauce added later in the cook. Final product and some process pics below. I used cottage cheese instead of sour cream this time...it was nice. next time I'll probably use both.

After a long week with work after hours, here comes my prize: decided to cook steak tartare, toasts, home made cream cheese, duck liver spread, dried tomatoes hummus, cherry tomatoes, jamon e some argentinian cheese. Mojito to drink and some Double Edmundo as desserts. Cheers!

The Monkey Bar in NYC finally re-opened after closing during COVID.  It was bought by the owner of another NYC restaurant that is really hot right now, 4 Charles Prime Rib, and he just re-opened it in September. It did not disappoint.

The cocktails were out of this world too. I should have taken some photos of them.

Great dinner last night. Maybe an 8 pound prime rib and a ham (not pictured) almost as big, along with all the fixings was a bit much for the four of us but it didn’t stop us from having a big brunch today.

Matsuhisa, Vail.  
 

Every year we take a night out without the kids and come here.  I actually proposed to my wife at Nobu in NYC back when that was the only Nobu restaurant on the planet, and very few people outside of NYC or LA ever heard of chef Nobu Matsuhisa.  There was a Matsuhisa restaurant in LA that predates Nobu in NYC.  Anyway, everything was amazing, as usual.

Looks fantastic. Howard Stern used to mention that restaurant often when I used to listen years back. So it's obviously food on another level. I would likely have to mortgage a kidney to pay the check and the tip! 😂
