It took them two years to come up with that??

After 20 Years of people pushing them to change it. Daniel Snyder is a moron, you really wonder how he got as rich as he did. They literally had 2 plus decades to think of something better.

Think of it this way, they could be appealing to a whole new demographic. How do you shorten Commanders? Go "Commies"!! :rotfl:
Our further spread the appeal with "Go Commando!". That'll bring in a whole new audience

"One Legacy.  One Unified Future."  🤣

Hey at least they're honest - a crap name for a franchise that's run like shit. Sounds like a "unified" future to me!

Brutal. They would have been better from just leaving Washington Football Team.

rubbish name but they were always on a hiding to nothing. claimed to involve the fans, which is rubbish because the best i have seen is a couple who don't hate the name but 99% detest it.

problem is what name do you use? very few options would have been loved - i did see quite a few say that they would be happy with the commanders but now we have that, they are not.

personally, would have loved Hogs. would have reflected the history of the team, the great eras, the style of football. fabulous for marketing. fans love it. but it hardly has the panache that the NFL and slithery dan would want.

one thing - seems every team has a name that can be shortened by fans to scream out at games, down to two syllables at most. how do they do that here? three syllables is simply too awkward.

They don't want to compete with names... we have a college team in the US called the Razorbacks aka "Hogs"   image.png.db50e8b9cdfe5b2ae18e3df2fbee91bd.png

aware of the razorbacks but the hogs has been an unofficial nickname of the team for decades, back to the great days of the famous O line. don't think there would have been any issue with overlap.

i still think we should have gone 'America's Team', just to piss off the cowgirls.

I swear to god they would have come up with something a little better.

Washington Ballers would have been a cracker.

why not call them what they are ? Suck. The Cowtoy's will continue to own that division and gag in the playoffs as usual

sorry, a quick look and going back to 1999 - i'm sure someone has more extensive figures - and it seems that the eagles actually own the division (lot of good it does them). they've won ten divisional titles, cowgirls 6, washington 4 and giants 3. from memory, you have to go back nearly three decades before the girls won consecutive divisional titles. if you think that is owning the division, then we have massively different standards.
