El Presidente Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 One from Friday's deck discussion..... Pitchers and Nubbers The last cigar you pitched? and The last cigar that you nubbed wishing it didn't have to end?
Bijan Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Last one I should have pitched but didn't was a plugged Partagas Mille Fleurs on yesterday's zoom. Last one I did pitch was a Romeo and Julieta Exhibicion no. 4 though the next one was wonderful. I nub not too infrequently but best cigar this year was a Cohiba Coronas Especiales.
maverickdrinker Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched: 2013 Edicion Regional Francia Quay D’Orsay BelicosoNubbed: 1998 Trinidad FundadoresSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dobbs Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 last pitched was an hdm san juan, just completely uninteresting. the last one nubbed was a bolivar silver jubilee hong kong. still hoping to snag a box of those, but fear i may be too late. -dobbs
LLC Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Last pitched El Principe yesterday. Last nubbed a CORO a few days ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was witness to @Bijan soldiering on with that MF...twas a sight to behold. My last nubber was the Mag 46 I’d posted about after a rough day. Last pitcher was an H. Uppman Anejados...it didn’t inspire me at all.
Smatthews607 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Had a Punch 48 last month that just refused to work- terrible draw, horrid flavor. I lasted about 15 minutes, then tossed it. Last nub was Mag 50- just great flavor.
Chris P. Bacon Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Last pitched, a Tatuaje TAA 2020. The wrapper wouldn't stay lit. That was after a 3 day dry box. Last nubbed, an H. Upmann Magnum 50 (UEB-ABR-19). Perfect in every way possible.
BeerPimp Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Last pitched was a PLPC. It would not draw and was acrid and bitter. It was weird I purchased a half a box and everyone had been amazing burnt sugar bliss until that one. I had another one that was good but not as good as the previous. That was 3 months ago I will have to smoke one soon to try it. Last Nubbed was a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial.
Meklown Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched Monte 4. Just no longer in the mood. Nubbed Siglo 2. Fantastic flavors throughout
inter4alia Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched Partagas E2 within the last week after struggling with it for about 20 minutes. No smoke production and wouldn't stay lit. I don't nub very often but I've nubbed each one of my ULA BPC from 14 that I've smoked over the past several months. 1
Tstew75 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched: A Monte 4 this morning over coffee that just wouldn't stay lit Nubbed: 17 Cohiba Piramides 2 weeks ago...BRILLIANT
Bri Fi Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched: La Punta. The box has been amazing but this was the first that was so tightly packed I could’ve broken a window if I hit it against one. nubbed: Padron 5000 a buddy gifted me for sharing my cigars with him and bringing him into the cigar world. Never was a huge fan of the thousand series but this one was just plain sugar sweet throughout. I was very impressed. Very one dimensional but who cares when it’s good. I have actually pitched quite a few lately due to draw issues. Northern California is 100 plus with rain off and on. I’m guessing the weather has taken its toll on a few smokes.
SansSin Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 last one i pitched due to a plug was a punch punch, have the worse luck with them last one i pitched due to flavor was a partagas presidente, tried a couple and couldn't stand them, hoping a few years will help the rest last cigar i nubbed was a VR famosos, was the first one i had tried and i was surprised by how good it was, hoping the rest of the box is the same 1
Cubadust Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Last pitched: Upmann Mag 46 yesterday, taste wise I'm out of luck on these. That goes for Corona Gorda in general. Last nubbed: Juan Lopez s2 last week. Just glorious.
JoeyGunz Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched - Vegueros Mananitas. Tasted of burning Rubber Tyres. Nubbed - San Cristobal El Principe. Tasted of salted caramel.
Benz1209 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched - An overly young HUHC (don't know box code as i got in a tin) Nubbed - A Partagas Mille Fleur from 2018
Akela3rd Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched - Punch Punch a couple of weeks ago. Solid lump of a cigar that no amount of poking and skewering could do anything for. Tasted awful too. Nubbed - RA Silver Jubilee, again a couple of weeks ago. FoH prize from a few months back. And an Oliva Serie V Belicoso, the only NC I've got (Nudies aside) and bloody marvellous they are too.Sent from Cosmos Redshift 7
djrey Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Been lucky and haven't pitched anything in months! However I burnt my fingers on a 2013 Partagas Short the other day. Fantastic! Edit: I did have a pitch. It was a Tatuaje Black label petit corona. I really did not enjoy it at all. Just very flat tasting with little character or much in the way of flavor. I have one more that I will revisit as I generally like most things from Pete. 1
IanMcLean68 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 The only cigar I've had to pitch recently is an El Principe from a LGR JUN17 box. Every other cigar from the box has been superb but this one was a tent peg beyond redemption. I only have 6 left now so 1 out of 19 ain't bad. Other than this, the following is almost always true for me ... 2
StogieSteve23 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Pitched: LGR-JUN-19 SCdLH Prado. Just cant get into these sticks. Flavors don't do anything for me and this one was plugged no matter what I did. Nubbed: Upmann Mag 50 from late 2019 (I believe) that was absolute heaven. 1
NicPac Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I pitched a Mag 50 today. The wrapper was fire proof. I never understood what that meant until today. I really hope the rest of my box isn’t this way. I nub cigars fairly often it seems but most recent was a 2000 BCE. 1

First half was very good however the second half was absolutely spectacular.

I have a 2016 JL1 box that I finished recently and was pretty much fireproof throughout the whole box. I have another one stashed away but don't want to dig in for a big. Very frustrating when a stick is like that, but I guess that is one of the risks we take smoking cigars haha. 4 minutes ago, EnigmatiC said: Smoked a 50 from early this year. This was my first one and I'm a big Upmann fan in general but this provided excellent flavors, good burn, slightly firm draw but nothing that was annoying. Overall, very pleasant for me but obviously we all have different palates two cigars from the same box could be completely different (for two people or for one person smoking one to the other). 1
