...to smoke those cigars you've kept your hands off of for months or years. Too special. Considering the current state of affairs I am a bit concerned if something drastic happens I may never get

Funny you mention this topic. A couple of months ago I decided I was done buying LE and RE so I started smoking through them every day and have not touched any regular production in a couple of months

Finally broke down and cracked my last box of the Grandes de España, this box from 2005. Glad I did, they're really good!

First Espy for me. Part of a prize pack from our host a year or so ago. Been saving the first one for a special event. Not a RE or a LE, but a special stick for me.

Got home late last night after three days in Philly getting my son all set in his first post college home with some of his friends. He’s been working a real job remotely for about a month and now that he’s in Philly he is waiting for the office to reopen. Bird has left the nest. Time for a little celebration and a life marker. His first night supporting himself in a different city and my first Espy.  As they say, I will always remember my first Espy.
Only a third of the way through and it’s a pure delight. Now I regret not buying a box last year. Lots of barnyard and cream. A touch of honey. A very Elegant first third worthy of the hype. Not even a hint of any bite.

Espy is a special event no doubt.  That porch though.....

Thanks. The porch was a long time coming. Should have done it years ago. Smoking a cigar when it’s raining is priceless. Hoping the heaters extend cigar season as well. Neighbors call it my office haha

Two years since Mike started this thread. Who could have ever guessed what a crazy ride it would be. No matter the circumstances, there really is no time like the present to smoke something extraordinary. Sincere thanks to @Thirds for this beauty!

Amazing! Beautiful day for it too in the city. Might jump out on the porch a little later while the brisket cooks and watch the selection show with a bottle of Illuminated Ancient Magick...and maybe one of my dwindling Partagas Serie du Connaisseur 1s.

I never knew Mike very well, just to chat here and do some trades and passes. And he was always unfailingly decent, kind, and helpful.

A few years ago he proxied a box of La Isla for me from one of his trips to the island. One of the many times he extended his hand to me. This seems like a good time to light one up, enjoy some gratitude for having known him, and try to pay forward the kindness he always showed me and so many others.
