I've been sitting on this stick for a while waiting for it to hit 5 years, explanation below. Beautiful sunny Saturday today seemed like the right time to put fire to it. This was very generously given to me by @Islandboy in a trade a while back. He mentioned it was from a special box of his and he was hoping to get them to 5 years before really dipping into them, so I decided to follow suit and wait for the 5 year mark too because of his generosity in sharing one with me. I'm glad I did. This was pure Esplendido flavor perfection from beginning to end. Nubbed it without a single relight. Dead nuts burn the whole way, with ash hanging on like a champ. Construction could not have been better than this. Brother, thanks a ton for sharing one of these with me. If the rest of your box is like this one, and I really hope for you that it is, then you are in for a lot of great smoking experiences. Haha, you beat me to it, I was awaiting April 1 with much anticipation, decided I’d wait a few more days ‘till Saturday night. We think alike. Nice!! Glad to hear it was a winner. I've got to find some way to make a hard and fast rule to only smoke them on certain occasions, just to start getting some age on a few. Not sure what would keep it from being a 100 pointer. A lot of strength, quite full bodied. Cream, biscuit, hay, honey. Rich and flavorful. Perfect construction, great draw.
