It was a little emasculating, I will admit, pulling my measly Cohiba short out of my now, seemingly massive, Peter James case. It just didn’t feel right… In fact, I’m not sure when the next time I’ll stuff my PJ case to the brim with fat Cuban cigars. Another casualty of the pricing assault. So I was fiddling around and finally came up with this. Aside from the plastic molded box and snakeskin belly, it’s all made from Cuban box parts inside and out. Will hold up to 14 shorts. All held together with marine grade epoxies, resins and sealants. I had fun making it so I’m making a 3 finger petite corona or smaller case now…. A couple other things; the lighter insert is lined with felt and the inner flap on the lid is lined with 2 sections of banding from a Upman Noellas jar. The numbered plate comes off a box of boli poderosos. Edit Also the hinge is off a box of Mercaderes and the warranty seal was lifted from a 5er petaca of Chicos. Also the lid is magnetic.16 points

Just finishing up my first Monte 5 as I type. What a great flavour profile and format for chilly late afternoon smoke. Paired with a double espresso and a nice pastry stout. Albeit, I've only had one but for me it's right up there with #2 for flavour, maybe better but different experience I know. Cheers. Loved it. Now can go and enjoy a nice Rhone red and a slow cook lamb stew for dinner. Bloody terrific.10 points

It’s slated for the chopping block as my kids have mostly outgrown it, but yes I too have that same water table. Pic of one of our legacy water tables five or six years ago (my daughter who is seven now, and our miniature dachshund who passed a few years back). It always gives me a chuckle when I see it on my phone.9 points

I love smoking DCs when given the chance. These days laptop is usually in hand, there is work to do, but it is so much nicer to have one of the great Cuban cigars of the world to help one's day along. It is a woody / creamy smoke with a lovely mouthfeel, beautifully balanced and a touch under medium bodied for the first half and becoming medium to medium full and right on full at the finale. Really perfect.9 points

Hi All - Just saw an Aristocrat Humidor for sale in the Denver area: https://denver.craigslist.org/fuo/d/aurora-armoire-humidor/7495884593.html. I've been looking for one for some time, but this one's not the right size for me (unfortunately). Wanted to highlight it in case it's the right size (and location) for any of you. All the best,6 points

The way some of that heroin is smuggled in, I don’t think I’d wanna smoke that Cohiba. One’d really have to be a fan of barnyard 😉4 points

No problems here with the 20-21 Monte 1s. All have smoked perfectly. The Monte 3s though? All over the map. Most "meh," some good, all hard to keep lit. So far, I much prefer the 1s over the 3s that I've had -- flavor and construction.4 points

70% is workable. I deal with 60-65F and 80% rH pretty often in the evenings. Over 70% is the danger zone. Wrapper starts to wrinkle and everything.4 points
