First go at the Connie B! More than a touch of youth for sure and tastes more like a big Connie 1 than the A to me. Will be interesting to see how these develop and how a bit richer wrapper will affect the profile (this batch was a on the lighter/colorado claro side). Cheers!17 points

Been a while since I posted here. Checking in on what is in my opinion the best LE of the last 8 years. This Topes is legit! Nicer wrapper quality than any box of Talisman or Dantes that I have seen in person so far.17 points

My first Monte #2 (USE November 11), from our host originally, and I do understand the allure but I think I like the Tubos better!16 points

This weekend came and went too quickly [emoji20] it’s not a long weekend in this part of the world. In between some short cigars, I managed to find some R&R time with two of my favorites... Romeo Cedros De Luxe #1 (ORA JUN 14), a beautiful satisfying rosado wrapped Lonsdale. As an Easter Sunday dinner chaser I indulged with a terrifically balanced 2001 LGC MdO No. 1 from a trade with@harveyboulevard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk12 points

Figured it's a holiday, let's pull out the big guns! I've smoked a couple of these since release and thought that's a good choice for some cocoa notes. Very well constructed, perfect draw. Toast and cocoa on the prelight. Fired up nicely with large volume of smoke production. Starts a bit on the woody side with some sweet coffee notes. Burn is spot on, nice firm ash. Dark molten chocolate begins to make an appearance approaching the middle third of the smoke. Just what I was hoping for! Quite full and rich smoke at this point, coating the palate nicely. Decent strength with this one, bit more fuller-bodied than most Habanos. Some earthiness to it, a bit like compost or mulch. Not off-putting, an interesting aside. Nice enough complexity with moderate evolution through out. Fairly good cigar to me but not sure worth the price point. Had a touch of old Bowmore on the side, well accompanied.6 points

became my wife 52 years ago on April 1st 1966.Nobody on both sides of our families gave us a chance. They gave us 2 yrs max.Yet here we are 52 years later and still going strong.Yes we have had our ups and downs but we worked it all out. So,here we are 52 years later, who would have thought? If anybody asks if I would marry my wife again, in a flash I would say yes.So, cheers to my wife which put up with me all those years.6 points

Partagas 898 (2008) - a gift from my Secret Bunny, great construction on this stick, but the mineral, leather and vegetal notes just do nothing for me. This is a smoke I felt I needed to try, but it is not one I would seek out again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

Thought I'd give this a go with the obvious choice, a Montecristo. Albeit young. First Third Choco hit right from the get go. Creamy cadberry egg. Second Third Lashings of berry fruit and cocca powder. Third Third Graham cracker smores. Campfire smokiness (the Lagavulin probably influencing here). Fourth Third This stick never ends! Not that I want it to. Milk chocolate, fudge, Nestle Quik. Final Third Youth is kicking in. Strength is up, all cocoa powder here. Nub Third Tobacco. Smokey. Very hot. Smoking time is 2:20 min. Overall delicious way to spend a Happy Easter4 points

This is the cigar my wife got me for Christmas so this seems like the perfect time to review it. She knows I like Cuban cigars and the band certainly indicates this, though I'm unfamiliar with the marca. The size is a bit large for my tastes coming in at something slightly larger than the BHK56 or Monte Maravillas No1, but I'm sure I'll manage. Paired with a coffee obviously. The smell is certainly chocolatey and the wrapper is smooth with no veins, slight box press on the underside only. Cuts nicely and the chocolate theme is at the forefront. Sweet nougat is also there from the start. Very sweet but smooth with it. Hints of what can only be described as 'crunchiness' too. My wife doesn't normally like my cigars but insists on trying this one for some reason, finding it 'surprisingly nice'. Once I've wrestled it off her I resume, with only the muffled shouts from the other side of the now locked door to disturb me. Very good indeed, a bit rich but strangely satisfying too. However, I couldn't do one of these everyday as it's bad for your health.3 points
