2021 E2 - Tasty, Complex and smoooooth. My favorite Partagas

In anticipation of the 2023 Nudie Carlota's arrival, I lit up two of the 2021s -- maduro and rosado.  These have aged well!  

While I don't sense the complexity of the two 2023 Nudies I've had so far, the flavors of these 2021s are quite pleasant, ...and the rosado is pulling ahead of the maduro now, IMO, which is a switch from what I recall when these were issued.  These older ones are still a bit linear to me, but the flavors are very rich and enjoyable.  Looking fwd to the new version! 

Taking back a bit of the above:  The last third of the 2021 Carlota Rosado really picked up in strength and intensity, in a wonderful way.

Although, surprisingly that Sunday was a lot cooler because some dark clouds rolled in. It was like 90. But yeah, this week is as you have stated. Looking forward to some cooler weather for sure. 👍

Ouch, that’s pretty damn hot for SoCal. I used to live in Ventura and would only see mid/high 90’s when the Santa Ana’s were blowing. Don’t recall seeing 100’s in the 35 yrs I lived there.

@PuroDiario, I am so damn happy for you. I know the feeling (car stolen from my house), makes one feel violated. I bet that stick was the best tasting ever.

First Canonazo.  Don’t get the volume of smoke I’d prefer and ended up smoking it too fast as a result.  Going to give it another 30 days at least before trying the next one. And use a cutter instead of a punch.

Attended a herf this past Saturday. Had some excellent cigars.

2002 LGC MdO No 3.

ERDM La Reina.  Very good but was expecting more "wow".

Davidoff Signature No 1 (Throwback Lancero)  This was an excellent smoke. Exceeded my expectations. Very dynamic flavour ranges, body changed often from medium to bold.  Claro wrapper was a bit "meh" but this performed like a champ.  It doesn't hold a candle to the 1970 Davidoff No 1 I smoked, but it was a fine attempt.

2010 VR Unico. aka "Coffee cigar".  Just divine.

Had a few more after these but at this point my palate was shot.  😁

Massive congrats to you Mate.  We all try to enjoy what life has to offer in variety and with discipline. Lots of us either get it wrong, or find it tough.   It takes a massive amount of self knowledge and guts to draw a line in the sand.

Yeah, I'm out in Riverside. This is normal here for summer unfortunately. Sometimes I just need to go to the beach or mountains to escape this.

In Manhattan for some meetings. Normal routine one night is to go to the original Smith & Wollensky’s. Did not disappoint. Cracked a new box of MEL NOV 15 RACA and enjoyed it after dinner. Long walk back to the hotel to work off some of the steak.
