Hired a painter last night to seal the pavilion to keep the natural color for as long as possible.  Once the sealer is dry the sign goes up to make the Cigarden name official!  Congrats to @Kaptain Karl on his new install; and I dig the side panel(s) since wind break is a big deal.  I was able to smoke comfortably last week in 30+ mph winds with my sun shades pulled down.  Beats the hell out of the garage. 😁

Usually reach for 1964, Family Reserve or thousand series, but went for a Padron 1926 no 1 after seeing them getting some love here.   Not sure if it was the extra rest, but 1st half was exceptional and much less peppery than I remember.   Got some "drift" in the second half, but overall a great cigar.

Congrats on the Cigarden completion! Are Espys still the going rate to get in or is it now a little lower bar now that those have gone to the moon?

My first Connie 2, from the Christmas sampler. First third was excellent, which is always a bad sign... sure enough, the rest was a let down. But I think the others I picked up in January will benefit from some rest.

Coloniales GLE JUL 20. The opposite of the Connie 2. First half was bland, latter half was excellent.

Padron Anniversary 46 Year Maduro. I love Padron naturals, not as big on the maduros, but this was probably the best dark Padron I've ever had.

And the tastiest cigar I've had this past week, a PLP UBM ABR 18. Three boxes left, purchased in 2020 for $2 and change per stick. Hard to believe.

burning a Jefferson,er I mean Edmundo. These have never been my favorite but decent enough. Construction was good. Flavors good enough but not exceptional or remarkable really. Only a 1/3 in so some time to contemplate the value proposition going forward. At least I’ll have a lot of time to adjust.

JL1 with some age. Some nice orange and cola flavors. Was surprisingly a bit harsh in the 1/3. Not sure my palette is back just yet after getting Covid two and a half weeks back. 

 Not sure why I pass over BPC’s as much as I do. They’re not sexy, but they’re the best PC going right now. FAR better than the JL1!

HDM Epi No 2 today, sorry no pic.    I left myself a note last year that these weren't ready and to let them sit a year.   They may need another year.  Sour taste and burn issues caused me to give up on the second half.

QdO Corona Claro MSU OCT 18. Great looking cigar, fine construction… but a rather bland, one dimensional smoke. I don’t think modern QdO is for me. By contrast, a late night HU Half Corona GOS JUN 17 was bursting with complex bitter-sweet flavour.

How come lately whenever I smoke one of these Siglo VI's, I feel like 10 years from now I'm going to feel like that guy that spent 10,000 bitcoins on 2 Papa John's pizzas?

Oh come on Elliot, you've got more than than just that one.  That's like me saying I'm down to my last Espy 😁  We both have lots of future yachts.  Now, whether we have any left in 2030 or not is entirely a different story.
