A very sad day for me and I’m sure many others who knew him personally. I was given a copy of the Min Ron Nee book for my 21st birthday and pawing through those pages was a big part of what kicks

I hope MRN and Nino are herfing with a massive cigar in the big cigar sky. John

What can you say about such a person? Eccentric, private, generous to those he trusted, sometimes controversial.  In the world of Cuban cigars (without diminishing his other accomplishments}

Oh my. Sad to read. Any published obituary?

I'll will smoke one of my most cherished cigars this week in remembrance.  RIP.

Min Ron Nee was a pseudonym he used to stay anonymous - I am unsure if his real name has ever been revealed.

It would be nice for some sort of public obituary with his real name, and perhaps a photo and summation of his life regarding cigars and his profession. I know nothing other than he was a collector of cigars and wrote an extensive book documenting them.

Wow, One of those loses that really takes the wind out of your sails. Certain things you have in head stupidly as a permanent fixture, an ever present...and then it isn't...and then they aren't.

It's such a rare thing to provide genuinely valuable resource. In a world of bullshit speculation, and hearsay, he provided us a compass, a touchstone.

Thank you

I'm unaware of his reference book. I need to look into this.

Also look up Alex Groom’s follow up. I have that. I can’t afford 2nd hand copies of MRN’s book.

Agreed El Habano Moderno is an amazing piece of work. Happy to have my copy.

You will likely need four figures to buy one.
