While the wife and kids are out running their Turkey trot, and I’m left to assist with the Thanksgiving meal prep I am pondering things I’m thankful for….and yes, family is at the top of the list, as is FOH, friends etc etc.

But let’s have this thread be solely about the main reason we’re all here after all. The cigars.

What’s your current top 3 favorite smokes that you’re THANKFUL are in your humidors. And hopefully in large quantities ;).

for me…and in no particular order

Sir Winston

Cohiba Robusto

PSD4

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to all… may the cigars and the libations flow freely today 🥃

Wow, interesting topic when you are blessed to have thousands of Cuban cigars.

i am thankful I have:

1. Two Cohiba Sublimes left to be able to smoke

2. One HDM EPI 2 from 2007 left to smoke.  It is from one of the first 2 boxes I bought from The Czar days.  Never have had better EPI 2s than that box.

3. Acquired a full box of 2013 MDO 2s to smoke.

I have been lucky enough to acquire several boxes this past year of some highly regarded smokes for which I am thankful to have but haven't smoked the first because they are still young.  The top three I have been smoking would be lusitania,  mag 46 and Siglo4.

Actually here for more than the cigars but they’re a nice plus.  Among many other things I am thankful to have more cigars than I may ever smoke but with the buying hiatus running low on a few stalwarts.

Touché. Poorly worded on my part initially. I agree. Intended purpose of my comment was that there would be no ‘here’, if not for cigars/tobacco. It/they bring many things to us all beyond just moments of pleasure from smoking.

Agreed. Cigars were certainly the genesis of our forum though it has evolved much beyond that for which too I am also grateful. No wankers rule the best rule ever!

If I could smoke a Churchill past half that actually stayed lit and didn’t get bitter, I don’t think I’d smoke anything else ……I must not have great luck with larger cigars ….it’s maybe 1 out of 3 that go past an hour or so without turning for the worst emoji20.png

I didn’t learn to appreciate Churchill cigars until well after after I found my palate was more suited to Cubans. Sir Winstons being the first and most frequent ‘offender’. Actually was offered a trade 8-10 years ago for a 3/4 box of 08 Sir Winstons for my NCs. So surreal I even had that opportunity looking back on it. Point of my post…get your Churchill’s some more age on em. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I've had that experience when huffing to try to keep them lit sometimes.  I smoke them sorta slowly and don't fret too much if they go out - once - which is all they usually do for me, just past mid-way.  Even after a re-light, I don't get any bitterness.  90-120 minutes.  I use a 12mm punch most of the time and go to a straight cut if the draw is still too tight.  I want the draw to be slight resistance only so the cherry stays hot.

My similar experience to yours is with robustos.  Very rarely do I get one that doesn't smoke bitter.

Currently working through boxes of

Punch Punch. I've smoked a fair # of these but this batch is very special.

Siglo IV. OMG good.

MC Double Edmundos. When I started smoking cigars I came to think  6x50 was the perfect size. Clearly I like the coronas gordas  best but the MCDE is pretty great when it's on and these are on.
