Chef Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 When y’all hit the links, what’s the first stick you reach for?

I never want to smoke anything too high end because my concentration is on my game, not my cigar. I usually smoke RAGs. They last me about 12 or 13 holes. 1
MikeinKS Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 This is where I'll smoke my NC's since I'm not going to be focusing on the experience nearly as much. Rocky Patel Sun Grown is my typical choice.
Popular Post MD Puffer Posted March 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 5, 2019 By "links" I take it you mean Jimmie Dean's delicious breakfast links, in which case I prefer to have alongside a PD4. And when I hit these links, I hit 'em hard. 1 4
boopdeep Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I’ve always enjoyed the Juan Lopez No. 2 on the course. 1
Edward7 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I wouldn't want to smoke anything other than a reg production since it's not relaxing at all to smoke while playing. It's almost always windier than what is ideal, and you have to put your cigar down a hundred times or more in the duration it takes to finish. I prefer hanging out after and having a cold beer and relaxing for an hour with a great cigar.
Koehlkm12 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 If it's an early round I like to start with a vigia. Always nice to get a smoke while playing and the dew is still on the grass
TNT009 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Its not really the brand for me, it has to be a 50 gauge or above because thy burn better, especially if riding in a cart. Boli Libertador, Trini Vigia or BBF!
MigsG Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Good question! I have a selection of golfing cigars, normally RG Panetelas, various Quinteros, JL Piedras, Vegueros Mananitas and Fonseca Delicias. I pick from any of those for a normal round. For Thanksgiving and other special holiday golf, I'll start with a Monte #4 or comparable.
Astar20 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I’d have to say Partagas shorts for the first nine then a bolivar juniors
dominattorney Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Usually a Punch DC or Lusi for me. Maybe a RJ Curchill 1
Notsocleaver Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Isn't this exactly what the Monte Opens were made for? Not that I would know, I refuse to smoke Monte Opens or play golf... 3
cigaraholic Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I smoke 2 DC’s when I play because 9 holes is usually perfect for a DC. I like to start with a Hoyo and then any of the others for the back 9. If it’s really slow I always have something to get me to the clubhouse. Smoking and drinking are the best part of my game!

Riverstyx Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Smoking on the course is not nearly as enjoyable, but I have the opportunity so I do it! Even if it ruins my after golf cigar palate. Something big: RyJ Churchill, RAG, Punch DC, Lusi (and I always feel like they're wasted!)
Fuzz Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Fresh PLPC.... so I can hand it out to my playing partner during the first few holes. That way, the mongrel of the PLPC knocks him around, and ruins his game so I can win. ? 1 2
FireMedic Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Usually anything I'm either very familiar with or not caring to be familiar with, either way
JZBdano Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I have a little tupperdor in my locker, right now it has Connie A, RASS, JL2 for on the course (usually only one) and LGC MdO4 for after if I'm lucky. I really enjoy a cigar on the golf course so when my next box of CoRos come of age they will be my top choice.
Erm310mce Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I usually go with Dip or Upmann #2s on the front and then maybe D4-D5s on the back.
jackupster Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Lusi for me. Usually light up about hole 4-5 and gets me through most of the rest.
gcman68 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I usually do a front 6 a middle 6 and an end 6 cigar when I play time permitting. It is the only time I smoke NC and usually smoke something a little strong with a non brittle wrapper ideally. I smoke mostly Olivia V, Epernay and certain Fuente's mostly because I don't concentrate on the cigar that much and they are always constructed perfectly and anything with a brittle wrapper can be tough to deal with so I save my CC's for more relaxing times.
Djf262 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Long time lurker/customer, first time poster, but had to jump in for this one. If I’m playing 18, a lusi. If I’m playing 9, la fuerza or psd4
Justin Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I’ve always leaned toward NC’s for the golf course. Just too focused on golf to get much out of the cigar. Undercrown, Aging Room, and New World are generally in the bag.
