Partagas D5 from a cool little shop here in Zug. First experience with Partagas and it hit the sourdough, sweet paprika notes as I've read. Excellent cigar and makes me want to dive into the D4 I have back home.

Stunning box of HdM Le Hoyo De Rio Seco arrived today. Dark and fragrant with a penciled message XOX on the bottom. Hmmm...

1948 Benson and Hedges Clear Havana petite Corona. This thing still had some life left. Full flavors from a 71 year old cigar. It even had some tar buildup. It was definitely past its prime but a experience none the less. Look at the filler tobacco wow.

Rafael González Perlas RUE Jun 2011 (thanks @awkwardPause) I smoked an original 2011 Rafael Gonzalez Perlas about a month ago and this was the second from the same box gifted to me by @awkwardPause (thank you!). My notes from the first RG Perlas were effusive in praise... This was not too mild, full of flavour and exhibited every sign of quality aging. I found the cigar perfectly balanced and no flavour dominated the other. Cocoa, floral notes, honey sweetness and baking spice all the way, I wish this was longer! Then again, it would be a Petit Corona if that was the case! The second one started out wonderfully floral and continued to do so until the back end of the second half when it picked up in intensity. Cocoa flavours were about the same, but honey sweetness was muted, as was baking spice. It felt like this cigar was a tad more youthful in flavour than the previous RG Perlas I had, but it was still a great cigar!

Good morning HDM! Epicure Especial. Another first for me. Solid Medium + notes of Black coffee, Brazil nuts, earthiness, finish with some bakers chocolate. Firm draw like a tent peg. PerfectDraw sorted it out. Looking at the wrapper burn I think dry boxing this for a few days would improve that initial burn line but it seems to be auto correcting fine. It’s giving me the breakfast hit I like. It was hard to reach over that perla / minuto stack of wonderment. No regrets here. This was a solid 91 all day For all you HDM No.1 and No.2 fans, let me know where this falls on your wheel house and flavor profile compared to this marca. Cheers and thanks

I just had the ultimate flight. My wife works for the airline and we fly standby. All flights to Atlanta are full and I was wondering about plan B when I was called to the counter and directed to another gate where an empty 777 was waiting to be ferried to ATL. Had the whole plane to myself. Of course I parked in one of the suites. Very surreal... Now I am in Atlanta, waiting for a flight to Zurich and then Naples.

They come in the classiest box for any normal production cigar, that's well dressed enough for me.

Waaaay back to a simpler time. A time when you didn't need to lock your door. When everyone knew their neighbor. Back when kids played in the street, and only came home when the streetlights turned on. ...April of 2017 Monte No. 4's. I probably have salad dressings in my refrigerator that are older. I've just started on the Cuban journey.

HQ/psp (there’s both orange and red stickers on the box ha!) UEB MAY 18 Monte 4’s. Wrappers aren’t super dark, which I like, and have a great sheen and aroma. I have a feeling this will be a great box!
