Popular Post JohnS Posted August 16, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2018 Recent cigars... 1. Montecristo Tubos PMU Sep 2014 In the beginning, it smoked like a dream, then the slight taste of ammonia came. This 'ebbed and flowed' into a mix of ammonia on one puff and baking spice on another, until it settled into the second third. Still, I prefer it like this then when they are youthful and all toasted tobacco and leather. 2. La Flor de Cano Grandiosos 2013 - Edición Regional Asia Pacifico ROL Oct 2013 The La Flor de Cano Grandiosos is a 2013 Asia Pacifico Regional Edition that has really come into its own in the last 6 to 12 months. This ROL Oct 2013 release is just short of 5 years of age, and it continues to develop wonderfully in its floral, citrus, almond nut and light cocoa 'on the edges' blend. This was a little spicier than my last one, but I envisage that they will continue to improve with more age. 3. Montecristo No.4 AEM May 2014 This Montecristo No.4 proves that you can't judge a box by one or two cigars. Whereas the majority of my AEM May 2014 Monte petit coronas have been more dominant in cocoa and coffee flavours, this was much less so, with more nut and cream evident. 4. Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de San Juan EML Jul 2015 I've been waiting some time to smoke this as it part of the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo line, and these traditionally have benefited from aging. Released in 2014, these originally were distinctive of white pepper and woody sweetness. This cigar, at almost 3 years of age, had very faint notes of spice on the edges instead, with that sweet cedar and tea core complimented by a burgeoning creaminess and vanilla. I can't help but commiserate at its girth though, as the blend would suit a smaller cigar in my opinion, like the majority of the Le Hoyo line still left and since deleted (prior to 2014, all Le Hoyo releases were 42 ring gauge or under). 12

Popular Post LLC Posted August 16, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2018 I took this ETP OCT 15 RASS from a cab out of the humidor yesterday to take to a friends. I ended up having a Trinidad La Trova and a 09 Bolivar Gold Metal generously gifted by our host. Both were excellent. Decided to have the RASS tonight and it is smoking great. Near perfect construction from a cab that has been consistently well above average. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 11
