El Presidente Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 EAR: Email Assistance Required. Over to you good people. Which 4 would you choose "I have to say Rob that I am loving FOH. For a newb, the discovery of such an information resource + a tolerant community makes this hobby so much more approachable. Question if you may. If I were to ask you to provide 4 cigars that showcased the extremes of Habanos cigar flavours, what would those 4 cigars be?
Popular Post JohnS Posted May 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 30, 2022 This sort of question is relevant for someone more new to the hobby who is still determining their preferences, in relation to marcas and vitolas. Therefore, I would choose the following four cigars to highlight how different Habanos cigars can be from each other which are all well-known global brands, yet popular amongst all types of cigar smokers... Montecristo No.4 Partagas Serie D No.4 H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1 Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 11
NSXCIGAR Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I would argue there are no "extremes" of flavor. There are some number of general characteristics that are present in some degree or another in every cigar. If you wanted to know what the "earthiest" cigar was or the "creamiest" cigar was there would be a different cigar for each, so certainly more than four. So I would take issue with the premise of the question. 1

CaptainQuintero Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Bolivar Petit Corona RyJ ex#4 Upmann Sir Winston Montecristo Especial #1 I just realised how limited we are from just ten years or so ago in terms of recommendations for those unique smokes: Bolivar Coronas Extra/Gold Medal SLR DC/ Serie A Sancho Panza Molinos QdO Panetelas I don't think you could get much more extreme between the SLR DC and a Bolivar CE 3
RDB Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Nice challenge. Four very different smokes: - Monte #2 - RyJ #4 - Partagas Lusitania - Bolivar PC or RASS I could smoke nothing but the first three. Included a ‘full bodied’ option to round it out. There’s also nothing quite like an aged Cohiba, but unless Joe Email is a baller, it’s irrelevant. An alternative proposal: - Partagas D4 - JL #1 - Trinidad Fundadores - Upman Mag 46 4
Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted May 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 30, 2022 If we're talking extremes here's my list. RyJ Cazadores for power and body. HdM anything for creaminess. Ep No 2 if I had to pick 1. BBF. Distinctive citrus notes. Very different from the above two. PSD4. As it is IMHO opinion a tour of Habanos profiles in general. I'm reticent to pick any Cohiba as I believe the sticker price can taint the enjoyment and objectivity of a new smoker. 5

Fuzz Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 If I were to ask you to provide 4 cigars that showcased the extremes of Habanos cigar flavours, what would those 4 cigars be? Extremes? Why is Guantanamera Cristales not on anyone's list? 1 3
karp Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 I would recommend something short with less time commitment: Monte no4, Boli PC, and PSD4 for the basics and one more for something completely different. Maybe the RyJ Ex4, JL2, or RASS? The last three aren't in my wheelhouse but they are very different from the first three, so it's a toss up between them. 1
Doublesh0t Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Partagas Series D no. 4 Monte #2 H. Upmann #2 RASS BOLIVAR BELI! 1
Sir Diggamus Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 This was a tough question to think about. H. Upmann Half Corona Punch Punch Montecristo Edmundo ERDM Demi TasseThese four should be pretty accessible on a 24:24 and gives a good range of flavors in the Habanos lineup.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Bill Hayes Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Too hard. Ha ha! Gp #1 - Monte2, Party 898, Punch Punch, Hoyo Epi2. Gp#2 - BBF, Hoyo ConnieB, RYJ Churchill, Cohiba Robustos. Gp#3 - D4, QdO 50, Trini Coloniales, Siglo4. Yes, I cheated. 1

Love the first 3. Never had #4. But definitely distinct differences in 1-3. A good variation there. Could likely make #4 a PSD4. That earth, cream and paprika spice is also quite unique. 1
Chas.Alpha Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 CORO- Cinnamon, spice and all things nice Bolivar Petit Corona- Coffee, Cocoa, over medium body/flavor RASS- Earthy, mushroom, all in a great way HdM Epi 2- Light to medium, savory spice and creamy 2
westg Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 For me the one Cuban cigar that stands out above all the rest and is undeniable in flavour . Partagas 898. Throw in Monte Petit Edmundo, Sancho Panza Belicoso , toss a coin for punch punch and epi 1 1
Simon_Templar Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Less than a year into discovering the world of Cuban cigars and I can confidently vouch for the following 4 as my favorites (thus far): - Trinidad Vigia - Monte 2 - Partagas Maduro no.1 - Juan Lopez seleccion no.2 I cant wrap my head around the PSD4 (tried from OBM SEP 15): I find it too strong and the leathery notes too overpowering however I very much enjoy a D5..🤷♂️ The first Epi2 I smoked (managed to get only 1 stick from a box of MSU MAR 18) was amazing and I went full-on on Epi2s but never managed to get the same taste profile as the first one I tried (even if aged, properly stored etc..).. Not sure if I should be continuing this quest of finding the same experience I had with my very first Epi2..the closest was a petit Robusto.. Cheers 1
BrightonCorgi Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Here's a list that won't break the bank and gives wide spectrum of Habanos flavors. Fonseca No. 1 SP Belicoso Upmann No. 2 RJ Belicoso 1
