  2. HAPPY FATHERS DAY! This ABO MAR19 RAG started off with dried fruit and cocoa notes and now about 1/3 of the way in has roasted coffee and cream notes. Man, this is good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I LOVE this cigar. The flavors in every one I have enjoyed have been amazing. Shortbread, sweet & savory spices, cream, and cake. YUM. The only gripe I have is the one made by many others, I really don't like the size. If you could add a few inches or utilize the same blend into a cigar that was thinner and longer (the size of the Majestic maybe) I probably would stock up on more.
  4. I really never have been able to like this cigar. I love pretty much every other cigar in the marca. I used to buy box after box of ERDM PC and Lunch Clubs, and I have savored the few remaining Grandes de Espana I have smoked over the last few years. BUT every time I have tried the Choix I just ended up with a flavorless cigar, if anything I would detect just hints of the EDRM flavors with a desire to have those turned way up. I keep trying though, maybe I will get a good one someday.
  5. I haven’t had any issues with the Monte 1 at all. I have sampled 18s, 19s, and 20s, none from 21 though. I have only tried a few recent RAG and all were from 19 but they had zero issues with construction or draw. With the size and RG of a Lonsdale storage RH will be important in the draw, but sometimes you can’t overcome a tight pack with low rh or dry boxing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. First time with this one. It’s very good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I love when opinions seem to be here and there. Personally I try to rest everything I get for at least two weeks before I dig in. As stated in previous post, so many places over humidify cigars so while you may not have to worry about them being dry, equalizing NCs to your preferred RH will help with the smoking experience. One thing I like about resting NCs longer is that cigars that are pepper bombs initially tend to mellow a bit with a few years of age. This helps with some cigars more than others. 8. I definitely get the HU no 2. I didn't try this cigar until 2020 when someone gifted me one with a BRE MAR19 code and I fell in love with it. I chased a few partial boxes looking for one with the same code because I wanted that exact experience. Shortbread, tad a coffee, tad of cocoa, the occasional sweet spice. I love this cigar. In a way I find it odd that I like it so much because I really don't get the Connie 1 and it seems to me that this cigar leans way more toward that H. Upmann blend then toward the Mag 46, which is one of my favorite cigars. Since I have only tried recent vintages I can't comment on any blend changes over time. In terms of ranking I put this one, The VR Unicos, and the Partagas P2 all in the same space, but if I am being honest this one and the Unicos edge out the PSP2 by a little, with the Monte no 2 below those.
  9. CCE PFY NOV05. It’s beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I was definitely one of the ones that mistook the PSD4 for the CoRo in the blind tasting last year. I swear there were honey and cream notes that had me peg it as the CoRo. It still was a fantastic cigar.
  11. I had this Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose with my morning coffee. Fantastic ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think there are a few marcas that have UV on the band. I know Montecristo have a mark (“MC” I believe) on the visible end of the band. I bought an inexpensive UV flashlight on Amazon a few years ago and it was fun to pour over the boxes and find all the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I haven’t made any change in my habits this far. I am not a daily smoker as is and tend to go though seasons of smoking a few daily and seasons of days or weeks between cigars. Now that I have moved to a place with long winters that may even be extended. I will probably smoke my Habanos a little less frequently and maybe pick up a few value boxes to help with stretching my stash. One good thing COVID lockdown did was give me a chance to beef up my inventory a little. I look forward to the days when inventories rebound and I can grab a few singles of something special along with any boxes I may be grabbing. My enjoyment hasn’t changed at all. I still rate it judge my smokes the same. It would be shame to smoke cigars with a bitter attitude, just not the way for me. And now we have Nudies as a viable alternative as well, I can’t wait for the release of the Dalias. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
