Will Smith's brutal smack of Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars ceremony was a "choreographed Hollywood display", one body language expert says. Celebrity psychic and body language expert Inbaal Honigman has explained that the incident comes off as a "back-slapping display" which saw the two men appear "dignified" and "leisurely" - at least on the surface. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/smiths-oscars-slap-choreographed-hollywood-26574442 Celebrity psychic and body-language expert? The Star? Case closed. Sorry, but no. There was no mistaking Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. You just have to look at Rock's face, he left fresh prints.... 4

I might believe it's real if they take away his Oscar or the like.

I am 58 and like Rob have never watched that POS show! Maybe just maybe I would for a free box of Siglo VI. I assure you, nobody watched the show. Just the internet clips of the slap heard 'round the world. 1

I've heard and seen at least 5 different tellings of the story. None of them have commented about what Jada Pinkett-Smith herself thinks about all this. Did she want that reaction from her husband over that joke? Did she feel she needed that kind of "protection"? Having said that, I am seeing the word "thug" used far more often towards Will Smith than it would be towards Kevin Costner or Tom Hanks had they done the slapping. I think the reference to Kevin Costner and Hanks is trying to flip a situation on the basis of what if in an allusion to race. The fact is he did something that is not right, jokes and roasting aside. I guess we will never know what would have been. I think people saying “thug” are not the norm but a few, mostly trolls in comment boards. From the inside of media and tech industry generally people not making much sense of it for what I have gathered. Agreed on Jada’s point. Though I think there is no better “desprecio than not doing aprecio” so why say anything. She stays above it by not saying anything. on another note, self deprecation correlates highly with IQ. Some studies on the subject. roasting is probably the only interesting thing in these events imho, should all take themselves less seriously. Smith could have protested the programming and not going up there to take his award for example. Brando did it. 1
Huckleberry Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 She is gorgeous, hair or no hair. What were we talking about?
NSXCIGAR Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Well, he's been kicked out of the Oscars for 10 years. https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/academy-bans-will-smith-oscars-ceremony-10-years-chris-rock-slap-rcna23461 2
Ford2112 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Well, it is my hope for the next decade I won't have to hear anymore about this "non news" story. 1
SirVantes Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 The Academy presents the Will Smith FAQs: People Who Actually Care About This Thing: So, Will Smith can’t win or even be nominated for an Oscar for the next 10 years? The Academy: No, he’s just banned from the ceremony. He can still win many Oscars. People: So he’s just banned from the trophy presentation? He can still play the whole season, and win titles? Wow, you guys really dish out frontier justice. The Academy: Well, the winner’s acceptance speech is a powerful platform… People: Unless you’ve also banned him from posting on social media, there’s going to be an acceptance speech, isn’t there? You just cost yourself views on the official Oscar channel – real smart. The Academy: He’s also banned from the red carpet. People: Do stars generally enjoy that perp walk? Especially male ones? The Academy: We the Academy do not condone such sexist… People: Shut up, will ya? It’s this kind of hypocritical… [Music plays, swelling in volume. Cut to live performance of a nominee for Best Song – which is like the Grammys having a category for Best Actress in a Hip Hop Video] 1

cigcars Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 *Well I for one am very saddened that this happened...and people keep talking about how it should have been Dave Chappell that he slapped. He's much more "street savvy" and so on. Also I'm grateful for the pictures showing the shocked reaction on the various attendee's faces...even Mel Gibson looked shocked. I still love Mel Gibson! And Chris Rock had said numerous times (despite being encouraged to do so by Academy officials) that he does NOT want to press charges against Will. Also did everybody hear about the sudden spike in sales and cost of the concert tickets to go see Chris Rock in concert!? So some consequences of such actions can be advantageous as well as tragic.

I know i said i would not come back but it is like trying not to look at a car wreck. please don't take any of this personally - it is aimed at the world in general. that said, i think you and i must have a massively different view of 'tragic'. the invasion of ukraine is tragic. climate change is tragic. the holocaust was tragic. a tosser with a little slap in front of vast numbers of people with nothing better to do, for which the tosser can't go to a boring awards event for ten years (which i suspect he thinks is a bonus) is not tragic. it is a bit pathetic and irrelevant and immensely forgettable and all rather stupid but tragic? and no, i did not hear about spikes in sales. did not even know he was holding concerts. mind you, if people are simply buying tickets in support of the bloke who has made it rather clear he just wants to move on (the one sane man in all of this), now we are verging on tragic. 4

Definitely agree with the ‘big picture’ and how it relates to the narrative. Hollywood gossip has long been a distraction to relevant world events. In reality, nothing said here is relevant to the big picture.

Dimmers Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 What about that chin on Chris Rock though, he took it like a champ. Don’t care much about celebs generally but some of the memes floating around the interwebs have been pretty good.
PuroDiario Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I can tell you his production company Westbrook is definitely leaning on the tragic side of things. Will recover, but not easy on them.
