If the husband says something in the forest and there is no one there to hear him, is he still wrong?

It's that time of year isn't it.  I got asked a simple question this morning about when I was going to put the lasagna together for Christmas dinner and had to answer 3 times before I got it right. 🤣

My wife is Dominican, so debating/discussing is the main form of communication to begin with. You want option A? Let’s discuss why not option B. English is also her second language and, while better than my Spanish, can definitely leave a high potential for miscommunication. If I agree, I’m often met with skepticism. “And, what you’re just agreeing with me to avoid discussing?” Having said that I knew what I was getting into with her the first time we met. She’s lights out smart and gave me an amazing son. And she loves cigars. So I deal with it. 😂

That's not the right question.  The right questions are:

• what were you doing in the forest?
• why didn't you let someone know you were going?
• what if something had happened to you?
• do you really think you're an outdoorsman?
• why are you tracking mud into the house?
• you forgot the milk again, didn't you?

Makes me think of great advice I received before I was married, but did not quite understand at the time.  

I was told, whatever happens to be to be the first house repair you do after getting married, take as long as humanly possible.  It doesn't matter if you need to change a door knob or point your foundation, you will be expected to complete both in the same amount of time.  Best to set the bar for the latter right in the beginning.

Another conundrum: the lesser known Mrs Schrodinger's Husband paradox.  This is a thought experiment that goes like this:

Mrs Schrodinger seals her husband in a steel container.  Without opening the container and observing the husband, Mrs Schrodinger can validly assert that the husband is in the state of being simultaneously a smartass and a dumbass.  

Whether she unseals the container is another question entirely.

Brilliant. I always tell newly engaged guys that they should do everything their wife asks them to do.
