Popular Post oneizzzz Posted October 28, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 28, 2021 Cold draw is light nuts and hay. Tight draw. First 1/4 inch notes are light and sweet - little bit of spice. Greek yogurt w/ honey and cinnamon. Smoke output isn’t great. There’s class, and it’s trying, but it’s hard not to notice some tannic bitterness and acridity. Like dry, unsweetened baker’s chocolate. Some cedar coming in, as well as some nicotine strength. A little green tasting. Like a green banana. Burn is uneven. On the retrohale, cream soda spice. Bit of orange rind too if I really imagine it… After the first third the draw is improving. Flavor is clearer too. There’s Cohiba profile and class, but a pretty obvious darker unrefined aspect of cedar and chocolate along with it. Second third and all is well. Spicy Mexican chocolate in dough. Heating up, a bit metallic. The burn is annoying. I’m having to touch it up a lot. Ash is sloppy. I’d like to smoke this stick after it’s got 10 years on it. I don’t know much about aging and I’ve only had 1 stick older than 4 years, but it seems as though this one really needs some down time. There are some great flavors here, but they come and go erratically, occasionally bringing along some unsavory friends. The rare delicious flavors in this cigar weren’t enough to save it from the bad construction and burn issues. Young and talented but clumsy. I found myself wishing it would burn faster so that I could be done with it. 88. 8

Shrimpchips Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Nice. QdO 54 would have been my guess from the opening notes. Definitely a blend (along with the 50, and likely the Coronas Claros from the example I had) that benefits from a few years down.
