El Presidente Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Your brief. 8 relatively available cigars that encompass the flavour array of Cuban tobacco. Give it some thought and put one together. Assume a mate has asked for a hand in selecting a sampler and he wants to explore the flavour diversity 1

nKostyan Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I think a “newbie” - is a pure newbie, not “from NC to CC”.Remembering my personal mistakes it should be the following conditions:- no cheap brands, but not too expensive vitolas - small format- simple not complex taste- not a high strenght- enough aged as all we loveMy sampler:- Cohiba Siglo II- RyJ Romeo no.2- Cuaba Divinos- Bolivar Coronas Junior- Montecristo no.4- Partagas Shorts- Trinidad Reyes - Por Larranaga Petit Coronas P.S. I don’t called the HdM, this is basically the perfect light cigars. The thing is: I prefer epicures, but it is too big formats for a newbie.
FatPete Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I think these represent their marcas well, and will give a newbie an appreciation of the different sizes: Romeo y Julieta Churchill Cohiba Siglo V tubo Partagas D4 Montecristo No. 2 Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial RASS Bolivar Petit Corona Robaina Famosos

Rhinoww Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 As a newbie NC to CC transitioning with the help of a friend here in the forum, I am in the process of trying many of these cigars. Smoking a Partagas PC at the moment. So far, not a bad one I the bunch. I’m hooked. Next step seems to be the slower collecting and partial aging process. This is a very deep hole.

They seem to be calling me more lately. I am finding some resistance to the siren call of 24:24. Learning a lot by watching what goes first though
cigcars Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 *Well, my following suggestions are primarily because you can't get certain ring gauge sizes anymore: 1) Ramon Allones Specially Selected 2) Bolivar Royal Corona 3) Partagas Presidente' 4) Fonseca No.1 5) Por Larranaga Petite Corona 6) Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1 7) Qunitero Brevas 8 Jose' L. Piedras Nacionales
