Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco ABO Abr 2019

Normally these are great for me, and on a consistent basis, but alas not today. Today's Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco was just okay. I persevered with the cigar and smoked it down because it had enough to keep me interested.

What it had was flavours of sandalwood, toasted tobacco, a hint of licorice sweetness and some ginger spice. What it lacked was a soft cocoa, cedar and marshmallow texture and more sweet ginger spice. If it had more of these latter flavours I would have been more satisfied. Oh well, there's always next time!

PLMC (LGR AGO-17) cold draw & first half was all caramel and then just toasted tobacco to finish.  Very nice!

RyJ Short Churchill and a Nespresso.

and a h Upmann half corona and a ginger ale. I didn't manage to finish it due to some work stuff coming up and it raining afterwards. Smoked a bit of later in the evening but it wasn't the same. In any case it was the first out of a May 2020 box and it probably needs some more time.

C&C time this afternoon. Enjoyed a SLR Churchill, box code VCR ABR 02. A mild but very enjobale cigar, despite this stick definitely wasn't the best looking one in the box with its slightly cracked head and food ? Still, great flavors, very enjoyable, and considering these where discontinued in 2010 I'm happy that I still have a ½ box left of these.

Hello dear friend. It’s been a while. Finished my last Party short box months ago and was distracted elsewhere. 

Opened up LMB OCT 17. First stick from the box.  Tight draw but I’m happy. Great to get back to you old friend. Tastes are really outstanding. 
 

now I’m panicked. Only three unopened boxes left in the stash. This box was part of my first two box purchase to “age”. I picked up two more boxes of party shorts a few months ago. This box lasted 14 months in its virgin state. My aging program isn’t so good. 
 

between COVID and cigars I’m starting to become a hoarder. I blame all of you!
