D5 yes. Earth , espresso some leather and a liitle citris. This was an excellent box .Great construction dark oily red wrappers.

H. Upmann Magnum 46 AUM Mar 13 (Thanks @IanMcLean68!)

It's been a little over two years since I've had my last H.Upmann Magnum 46. I know, that's an incredibly long time for a quintessential Habanos cigar such as the Magnum 46 but I guess I have my reasons and these, in general, have to do with H.Upmann as a marca.

I would like to thank @IanMcLean68 for gifting me this cigar. At six years old, it was definitely within my peak period for smoking it. I find H.Upmann needs time for my taste to reach its peak and I definitely favour the softer shortbread-laden varieties such as the Connossieur A, Connoisseur No.1 and Sir Winston rather than the powerhouse, when young, espresso-laden Magnum 46, Half Corona and (now deleted) Petit Corona. In any case, I will tend to age my Upmann stock, except I'm partial to smoking the aforementioned 'softer' cigars (in terms of flavour intensity) younger.

At this stage, this Magnum 46 had no harshness or intense power in its flavour delivery whatsoever, and this is exactly the way I prefer it. Shortbread, a touch of espresso coffee, vanilla and licorice sweetness is the best way to describe it, according to my palate. In short, simply delectable and delicious!

I have a few boxes of H.Upmann Petit Corona resting for the long-term. If only they turn out like this I would be elated! Perhaps I should check on them in 3 or 4 years time!

75F winter wonderland so pulled this UAO JUN19...why the hell not. Dry boxed for 4 days (couldn’t wait that 7 days). Wow! They just aren’t supposed to be this good young.

That description just made me want to dry box a Mag 46!  Mine though are only a year and a half old so maybe it's premature.

2001 CCE. Perfect cigar...other than this one suffers from a bit of Peyronie’s disease! 

Have been smoking through those really really good peak boxes that I’ve been holding onto the last 2-3....year end cleanup. Fun task!

I’m very sad to say, this is the last of my Capitolios.  All 10 have been outstanding cigars, including this one.  Definitely the best QDOs I have smoked in many years.  When I bought the box in Paris back in April, little did I know how much I would like them.  When I smoked one, I immediately regretted not buying 5 or 10 boxes.

They have some similarities in the flavor profile, but these are more complex, and have a higher flavor intensity.  And from a price standpoint, you get much more cigar for your money.  In Paris, they were only a little bit more money. But the only place I have found them online, they cost twice as much as in the brick and mortar in Paris.

Yep. Had same stick a few weeks ago. Wow is a good word. Rich and Big. Hard to stay away but only upside I think on aging.

BOLRC PCC ULA AGO 15. Started off wonky burn but smoking real fine at the half pole...
And wishing I had that @FatherOfPugspour with a few ice cubes dying in it.

I've been smoking '18s and '19s, enjoying both 50s and 54. All personal preference really. I like them now, but will most likely just improve with age. I can see them plateauing quick possibly.
