QdO 50 from late 2018. Smoking really well for a young cigar. Perfect burn and draw, nice mild richness, not that complex. Good but nothing to go mad over.

El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse MLU Dic 2018

This cigar, the third from this box thus far, has been the best of the lot up to this point. Flavour and construction was spot on...shortbread, honey and citrus in the first half and a build-up of spice the second half which suggests youth. I might have a few more in the next few months and then let the box settle before I see how these are in a year or two.

My first PLPC definitely worth a 50 cab buy but the problem is I couldn't let them age they are fantastic on their own beautiful clean tobacco taste.

Trinidad Robustos Extra OUS Sep 2009

This was the first cigar sampled from a 12-count box I've rested in my OLH for a number of years and shipped recently. After smoking it, you have to wonder why this was ever deleted. Simply put, this was as close to a 100 point cigar that I've ever had, and trust me, I've been fortunate to have had some good ones. Better than the recent LCDH Trinidad La Trova? In a word...yes.

What made this near 10 year-old cigar so sublime was the rich creamy butter texture it gave from beginning to end. The La Trova I had a few months ago was similar but more intense in flavour, more salty and spicy. In comparison, this Robustos Extra had no significant dough flavours, but it had cedar, grass or hay, leather and tea flavours aplenty and these flavours were both balanced and mild. It was also very easy on the nose, retrohaling was pure bliss throughout the smoke.

The question of when cigars are at the peak comes up from time-to-time on our forum. This cigar today makes that question moot as I have every confidence that I can leave the rest to smoke over the next 5 to 10 years and this will still be great.
