El Presidente Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Are there any Maduro cigars that really float your boat? Is there a Maduro cigar that you would miss desperately if it was to disappear? Do you miss the CC Maduro's? Price point excluded. Or has it been more like a good local cafe closing down. Regretful...but there are others and after a while you don't give it a second thought. What about NC Maddy's. There are a ton. Are there any to you that are world class "float your boat" cigars? Why? What makes them different to the run of the painted mill?
Chibearsv Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I'm not usually a fan of Maduro cigars but the Ashton Aged Maduros really hit the spot for me. 1
Stoyan Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Padron anniversary maduros are always great. Fuente Anejo line, liga privada T9, The Tabernacle, … There are so many good NC maduros out there. I stopped smoking Cohiba Maduros after the price hike, but I enjoy the Partagas Maduro line from time to time. 1
electriceye Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Pleasencia Cosecha 149 La Vega has been my go to for a while.
Glass Half Full Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Always love the Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos; "hands down" best of that series in my opinion, especially with age. 4
Popular Post JohnS Posted September 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2023 The word 'maduro' itself means ripening but in a commercial sense, it's come to signify a sweetness added to the blend. The reality, however, is that on Habanos cigars, in my view, it can overwhelm the blend of the cigar. That's why its quite common to hear of cigar enthusiasts enjoying the Cohiba Maduro, Partagas Maduro and some Limited Editions with more age on them. In regards to Non-Cuban maduro varieties, I don't feel I'm qualified to comment, other than to say that I really enjoy a maduro wrapper on the Padron 1964 Series because it adds to the blend of that line in a positive and enhanced way, in my opinion. 6
Ford2112 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Not that big of a maduro fan. That said I can handle the occasional Padron maduro.
Low Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Here's a short list of NC maduros that I keep in constant rotation when I can find them Padron 1964, Liga Privada L40 and Feral Flying Pig, Leaf by Oscar Lancero, Foundation Tabernacle and Olmec, Plasencia Alma Fuerte, Fuente Anejo, Dunbarton Mi Querida I'm also in complete agreement with @JohnS on the 1964s. I very much prefer them in maduro and the 1926 in natural 2
ChangBang Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I like the Rocky Patel Sun grown Maduros and they can be gotten for a few bucks each. Good value with pretty good flavor.
targa88 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Plasencia Alma Fuerte and Undercrown Maduro (Corona viva) have been the recent discoveries in the NC world that I have enjoyed.
benfica_77 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I enjoy genios but to be honest there are smokes much higher up my list. Would i be devastated no. I had a partagas Maduro No. 3 and was disappointed...too much "spice". 2
Bohemio Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Really enjoy AF añejo, and occasionally enjoy Padron 1964 or 1926 maduro. On the cuban side I remember enjoying the partagas maduro line however due to price increase i rather spend on other cigars.
Edicion Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Partagas Maduro No. 1 with some age on them are flavorful, smooth and classy. I have had great Cohiba Secretos and Magicos too but few and far between. Trying to find but have yet to try the Padron 1926/64 maduros but only heard good things. 2
westg Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Partagas No 1 again 🥶 down to only a few. 12 to 18 months, they have a rich sweet smoke with a little savoury kick on the end. Very unique. For me they flatten out rapidly, I would not recommend giving them too many years. I was actually surprised with the Desnudo maduo lanceros... how good it was. That said, FOR ME there is a gap between them and Cuban lanceros. I have smoked NC maduro aplenty and continue to struggle...with all of them. 1
JoeyBones777 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Liga privada no. 9, DTT Mi Querida, Illusione Rothschilds, E.P. Carillo Pledge lonsdale, Super Fly by Oscar Valladares, Padron 1964, Illusione maduro, Caldwell mad mofo, Foundation Tabernacle in no particular order.
PuroDiario Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I like Genios, Party No 1 and Padrón 1964. Genios the most by a wide margin. Not a top 10 in my book, but I definitely like them a lot. 1
anacostiakat Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Not really. The only one that comes to mind as "smokeable" to me is the Fuente 858 Maduro. Good ROI.

The first run of the Cohiba Maduros were out of this world. Even a little after that I thought they were impressive. Been a long time since I had one, but I imagine they must be awesome now!
Doctorossi Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Fuente Anejo comes close, but that's about it.
HoyoFan Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 There’s many good popular ones here. But I have to say that the stick that really made me sit up and take notice a few years ago when I first tried it was Stolen Throne Crook of the Crown. The reason being is that it had real flavor that isn’t just another massive hit of earth and pepper and some cocoa. There’s depth to that cigar. Especially with just a few months down.
Bill Hayes Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Rocky Patel Edge Maduro - Battalion. It's a silly 6X6 but it's all barnyard and with a cat's eye punch you can just sip on it instead of having to put it in your gob.
Ford2112 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 A few mentions of Rocky Patel. I've actually been impressed with a few of their offerings.
Hoepssa Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Oliva melanio maduro, and Padron 1926. Sweetness from Cuban maduro doesn't impress me, maybe Habanos SA creating them late.
