El Presidente Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Cohiba Siglo III BC = Before Cigarmageddon. BC, the Siglo III was always a favourite cigar of mine. I could forgive the occasional QC fail. I find that harder to do today. The Cohiba cream/honey/lemongrass/citrus is all there in spades. Not as classy as the Siglo V but not far off and a little more robust in the flavour it delivers. Cohiba Siglo III Do you like Cohiba Siglo III Where does it stand compared to other similar cigars. Have you noticed a blend/flavour/body change over the years? If so, approximately when? Popular Post JohnS Posted March 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2023 On account of the general unavailability of the Cohiba Siglo V (and the Partagas 8-9-8) of late, even prior to the current production crisis, I would rate the Cohiba Siglo III my favourite of the Linea 1492 series. I would concur that the Cohiba Siglo V is more classy, but without repeating myself, I just wish it was as widely available as other Siglo cigars. In regards to blend, I seem to remember that these were more herbaceous 10 to 15 years ago (i.e. more grass/hay) and around the mid-2010s, around the time of the introduction of the hologrammatic bands for all Cohiba cigars, these started to have more of a coffee element to them. The size is about as ideal as you want, but sadly the Coronas Grandes vitola, with a length a touch over six inches, has gone by the wayside over the years, like a lot of other things Habanos-related. 9
Tdm_86 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Love the size, it’s one of my favorite Siglo series cigars. I must agree with @JohnS that they got a little ‘heavier’ in flavor sometime around the band change. This is one that, in spite of price increase, is still almost worth it’s price. I don’t think I’ll be buying whole boxes anymore, but a 3 pack of tubos l wouldn’t mind even at current pricing. 3
gormag38 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Absolutely love the III. It was actually my first cohiba ever purchased....a five pack which smoked absolutely sublime. Not alot of grassiness or hay, but lots of creamy, coffee notes. I decided to buy a cab not long after. Have been letting them age since but think it's about time to try the first taste test. 2
foursite12 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 A wonderful smoke. "Elegance" comes immediately to mind. Don't mistake that for softness, lightness or lack of complexity. This cigar needs to be coaxed along. If you are on the clock, pick something else for that occasion. Slow and easy wins the day and extracts the full nuance out of the III. 1
HailState Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I’ve only been in the CC hobby for a little over a year, but so far this is my number 1 cigar. The honey and cream notes are right in my wheelhouse, and the vitola is hard to beat. Luckily I was able to snag a couple boxes right before prices went crazy. 1
joeypots Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I love the III almost as much as the IV. Since the des Dieux and the Monte Tubos are gone the III fills the void for the Coronas Grandes. I’m not sure any Siglo is better than an other. Cuban cigars are too inconsistent and I don’t smoke enough of Cohiba to distinguish between sizes and years. I do like them and seem to have smoked 4s, 3s and 6s (in that order) the most over the years. The 3 is a 75 minute smoke if I’m paying attention. Now that there are worth their weight in gold I’ll smoke fewer and have memory to make reasonable comparisons. 1

Nevrknow Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 One of my first Cohibas after that incredible Medio Siglo. I went batshit crazy deep on these. TG. I will die with some left. Maybe. 3

Chibearsv Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Siglo III was the best value in Cohiba. I’ve got a few cabs remaining but sure wish I had more at the former prices. I don’t think they’re the best Cohiba but they are damn good. 4
TR Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 I've smoked about 30 boxes of these over the past 20 years. My favorite cigar, but with the current pricing, I won't be purchasing more. I have a full box and partial left. It saddens me that is all that remains.

Kaptain Karl Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Glad I have 2 boxes of these but bummed I only have 2 boxes, I'll have to figure out how to stop being a broke loan officer to afford some more! 2
Monterey Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 God love you people who think Cohiba is best under 5 years of age..
MrBirdman Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Along with the Siglo V, my favorite cigar. They’re like two children, each with it’s own strengths but still closely related and equally loved.
