Looking for a new lighter. Had bought this in the past but constantly goes out on the golf course: Kollea Torch Lighter, Triple Jet Flame Butane Cigar Lighter with Cigar Punch and Safety Lock, Refillable and Windproof Butane Fuel Lighter, Great Gift Idea for Men (Butane Gas Not Included) https://a.co/d/f7QGK3Y

Looking for something in the $20-100 USD range. Basically anything that isn’t ST DuPont, unless you can make a compelling case for why I need to upgrade to that.

I got a lovely Dupont Ligne 2 off of eBay while drunk a couple of weeks ago, put in what I thought was a low 'best offer' of £100 and woke up to an accepted email.

Really happy with it, feels like I'll never need to buy another lighter. Although a thought that after I bought an old Ligne 1 a month or so ago!

There are some reasonably priced replicas that someone else on the forum recommended. They can be found on eBay.

Scratch all of the above, did not read properly! I've never had luck with jet lighters.

I know this has been covered before but I’ll give you my answer. I have a bunch of high end lighters and am picky about lighters. For a golf lighter, Eagle Torch. I’d reach for an Eagle Torch without hesitating even at home before walking 20 feet to grab a DuPont. They are solid, have a precise flame, can hold a ton of fuel, are very tough, and they work well in high wind. I think you grab a 4 pack on amazon for like $15. I’d stick a few of those in your bag, have one for home, and be done with it. Save the money for golf balls.

I buy those 7 dollar single butane torches and they work as good as any expensive lighter. That way I can spend that money on smokes!

Yep! Those are the ones.

Weekend plans: take a virtual vacation

I picked up one of these about a year ago for fishing/hunting outings. Nothing fancy but it works well,
About $80 USD on Amazon.

I’ll recommend the utilitarian play Eagle Torch, but man that is a sweet piece… I have had my eye on those to hook inside the pocket of my ski jacket. You got the best color too. 👍🏻

Yep. Have had several of these for many years. Learned my lesson. The more u spend on a lighter the greater the odds of it pissing u off.

Can’t stand (torch) lighters anymore that come with a flimsy push button at the top near the jet, or where you have to press a button along the narrow side of the body. Push or pull roll bar type for me. Ergonomics, stupid! 😉

Have owned a Dupont 25+ years.  They end up leaking every 4-5 years it seems.  At home I go for the Bic > Stove > Dupont in that order.

Going to check out @El Hoze recommendation.

I prefer single flame torch as I feel triples are overkill. I generally use Vertigo Amigo for about $18 or my current favorite is a Xikar Xidris. Premium lighter that retails at $75 but you can score them on cigarbid for around $35-40 generally.

These came highly recommended from a friend of mine and I really like these cheapo torches.  They remind me of the torch lighter version of a Bic if it was made by Aston Martin rather than Citroen.

I've used a colibri daytona for years now with no issues. I went through multiple cheap lighters before it and it has definitely saved me money in the long run.31ab605f6e41454456ace1e8862a3a7f.jpg
