I have whittled the list of eligible celebratory cigar candidates down to the following: HU Magnum 56 Diplomaticos Bushido Trinidad La Trova Punch 898 El Rey del Mundo Tainos (current) I have only one single each of the Mag 56 and Bushido but I'm freaking ancient and have no qualms about burning either one for the occasion vs saving for the long term. I have multiple boxes of the others. Although I have been smoking cigars since law school, I have not had any of these other than the La Trova. Leaning toward the Bushido but I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. Thanks in advance!

The one I had in 2017 (thanks @JohnS) 96-97 points solid with room to move up. A marvelous example of the best a marca can produce. The Mag 56 has mellowed out quite a bit but I had a few last year and they topped out at about 93-94 for me. I haven't had any of the others. 1

PigFish Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I never plan smoking. I pack a few cigars when I fly, and a lot more when I drive. That is as close as I get to planning cigars. Funny thing about birthdays... they are just one of the many days in the year. Not discounting yours of course! I have concluded that every day above ground is a good day. I hope you have a great one. And if you sit back and enjoy the smoke, spend it with a friend, or quietly alone, or even a furry pet... I think you will pick just the right cigar. What the hell, take one and smoke it today and pre-celebrate your birthday. You probably deserve it!!! Happy B-day! 2
