After viewing @Habana Mike's Reynaldo 70 RG custom roll, I really wonder how should I cut 70 RG Cuban custom rolls. I myself not a big fan of these monster truck cigars (my max RG is 55), but Habana Mike's review made me want to buy that donkey d@!k from Reynaldo when I travel to Cuba. The two possible candidates just come across in my mind...

  • XIKAR MTX Cigar Scissors: Surprisingly, it still can cut super thick CCs like 70 RG although it doesn't specify its max RG! There's a proof on Youtube someone using MTX Scissors on 70 RG.
  • Colibri Quasar Punch: Always works on super thick Parejos, but not obviously for Pyramid and Perfecto. Although it's not Colibri Quasar Punch, Habana Mike used Credo Punch on Reynaldo 70 RG custom roll.

There are some exceptions like 70 RG Cuban custom rolls with tapered caps. In that case, my Colibri V-Cut might do the job despite of its small bowl. This idea came from random Youtube folk used Cuban Crafters Perfect Cutter on 70 RG with tapered cap.

If I found myself smoking 70rg cigars. I'd just be concerned in finding a cutter that could also do my wrists.

Fully agreed.

Xikar M8 cutter can handle up to 70RG as well

Thanks mate! is cap of 70RG fits to XIKAR M8 Cutter? M8 sounds promising to me.

This is the reason why I just stick with classic CCs. 55 RG is my maximum, but I still feel that 55 RG is really big one for sure. 80RG+ even more look like gigantic Subway sandwiches LOL.

Been there...done that!  A very sharp instrument such as a disposal break blade knife and carefully cut a football V shape into it.  (american football style cut) ?

Start out thin and tight on the cut and expand from there if necessary till you receive the volume of smoke you like.

Anything beyond 52 is not preferable.

Much agreed! Anything more than 55 RG are way too thick to me. Even 55 RG is still look big in my eyes XD.

Finger nail, sharp knife, use a punch and punch multiple times, bite the cap off with your teeth. All work perfectly fine. You don't need anything fancy to cut that one cigar.

Thanks mate!  I think M8 will do the job too IMHO.

I have used many times any kind of sharp kitchen knife.

Axe would also work.

More and more extreme ways to cut cigars XD!

My daughter gave me something like this on my birthday to decorate my garage cigar smoking table.  She really thought it was for cigars but it's made to cut plug tobacco.  Should work for a 70 RG, though the cut may be a little rough.?  Seriously though, shouldn't a large punch work just fine?

I use my Colibri Firebird Viper to make a sanctifying cross on the head of the beast. It usually takes 2-3 passes but the job is done; you can kiss the head instead of chug the shaft.?

I have Colibri V-Cut in my stash and 70RG will fit to it, since Firebird Viper also has max ring gauge of 60.
