Crikeys! The entire length! How the flipping hell was this missed during rolling, grading, or boxing? I'm finding it hard to imagine, even in Cuba.
I guess the only bright side is that it looks like it's just hemp string, so unlikely to do anyone who might have missed that any real damage. It sure would taste bad though ?

Geez, you guys are never happy! Always complaining about tent pegs or wind tunnels, so Cuba develops an adjustable draw insert and you guys still freak out!

Hmm, this makes me think maybe they should have threaded in some fireworks fuses back in the days of the fireproof EL wrappers.  Might have helped with combustion.
