benfica_77
This pictures aren't mine it was posted in another cigar forum. Not sure if anyone has seen the new releases for this year but thought I'd throw up the pics. Enjoy! Initial thoughts...the monte supremo will be like stuffing a salami in your mouth...no thanks. The topes and cohiba novedosos looks interesting.

rckymtn22
Another short fattie. ? Short de Punch, (50 x 120 mm), is a new vitola with excellent dimensions for aficionados who prefer heavy ring gauge Habanos with a short smoke. ?
JohnS
What caught my attention was the Trinidad Topes becoming a regular production release. (And not just because it's in red-coloured font!)

I also did not expect to see that Punch also has regular production Petit Robusto! Cohiba LCDH would definitely be an ultimate money grabber in my opinion! ??
CaptainQuintero
Very surprised to see QdO getting a push via an EL release, good news even if it's something I can't see me picking up personally. If it pumps the numbers then all good
cmbarton
These dang 50+ RG! I predict in just a few short years we’ll see 60 RG Habanos. Ridiculous. JFK is rolling in his grave.
Notsocleaver
That QdO might be the first EL I chase in about a decade. The Short de Punch could be a great stick if the pricing is sane, but if recent history is any indication it will be cheaper to just keep buying punch punch. bigguccisosa
Habanos just isn't going to stop with these bigger ring gauges ? It's not that I completely hate them, it's just disappointing that we're starting to no longer see many cigars under 50. The 44's just have such a great feel to them and I personally have less burn issues with the narrower gauges.

Yep, as a pure functioning item, a cigar smokes best between 38-48 RG. Everything after that is just show.....and not go! I'm hoping the novelty wears off in another 5 yrs, and then we can get back to serious smoking

JFK is rolling in his grave. This is precisely why I repeatedly call thick ring gauge cigars ‘dildos’ on every forum of media. Program enough minds to think of that NSFW toy while they’re smoking that vulgarly thick smoke and soon they’ll be reaching for lonsdales and petit Coronas to get that image out of their mind. My worry is that Habanos doesn't want to go back to a smaller ring gauge because they're harder to roll.
Astar20
Habanos needs to make more 109s or something of that nature.

YOM'$
Do the new marketing efforts on QDO seem to cross over to quality? Sure seems like they are rolled like butter on hot corn If so, is it reasonable to believe they will start encouraging factories to be more consistent. It sure seems like they are on the bandon wagon with NC in RG and glitter. Why not have quality control. Hmmm....
Popular Post ATGroom
I don't think anyone really needed to be told this, but with the stuff announced so far, 2019 is the fattest year on record. Year Average Ring 2000 49.42 2001 48.71 2002 44.34 2003 46.88 2004 49.62 2005 47.84 2006 48.41 2007 47.00 2008 51.57 2009 49.78 2010 50.17 2011 51.07 2012 50.41 2013 50.60 2014 50.07 2015 51.48 2016 51.93 2017 49.00 2018 50.96 2019 52.69 *I'm excluding some stuff like the Habanos Selection, which is just five regular production cigars etc. 2017 is low because the Cohiba Shorts and two Montecristo Open Minis were released that year. Also I guess "average" here is a bit rubbish because it's counting a 58 ring cigar from a 1/50 $100k anniversary humidor the same as a new regular production, but hey, it's just for the yuks.?
