hedgeybaby Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 i truly believe that I have found the cure for the wicked affiliation that is cigarette smoking. The Cigar I smoked is apparently a 100 per cent cuban hand rolled, purchased from a reputable cigar shop in Toronto for about 50 pence. Construction was very good, combustion was almost razor esque and the taste, whilst due to the aforementioned cigarette habit didn't zing, I got the twang with touch of I think aniseed or something like that. **Hands in pic are Mrs Hedgeybaby** 1

Popular Post Wilzc Posted September 14, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2018 Don’t normally take pictures of myself smoking cigars. Normally they’re just pictures of the cigars. Por Larranaga Petit Corona! Ridiculously oily stuff from 24:24. I was half expecting these to suck due to the high humidity that day near the stream but they smoked well enough! Albeit a little young. Dark bitter earth and caramel through and through! Also! I read somewhere that some folks run their cigars in tap or mineral water for a quick half a second or so before smoking. I had to try this technique! Sadly ... couldn’t get a good burn from it 3 2 1

Ok, you can't just drop this in and walk away... $0.50? In Canada?! What's the story behind this miracle stick?
jaytothen Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Four day weekend. Decided to start with a Monte 4 from 08. Started with a surprise pepper bite considering its age but quickly turned into a unique but nice baked bread and typical cocoa note. Was really enjoyable 45 minutes and good start to the day. My cat loved it too. She loves cigar smoke and bourbon. Takes after me I guess. If only my wife enjoyed them like her. 3
Popular Post awkwardPause Posted September 14, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2018 2017 ? ? ? with my smoking buddy on a wet and dreary Seattle morning. Honestly my favorite kind of days. This stick had it all and displayed some nice transitions along the way. Started with some charred nuts and fresh ground coffee then transitioning into buttery rich core of chocolate and earth with a very rich aroma as well. Have a great weekend all! 6 1

Popular Post Akela3rd Posted September 14, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2018 La Flor de Cano Gloriosos (Asia Pacific regional) ROC JUL 13. Sat by the fire at dusk with this as I've never had a FdC, nor an AP regional for that matter. Courtesy of that fine Yorkshiremanthedame007 in the UK box pass. Tea, in the pre draw which matches the Fengong Golden Buds tea I'm having with it. Light summer fruit to start with a hint white pepper, light draw, mild/medium strength, reminds me of Fonseca or Quai D'Orsay. It gets a bit muted into second third but with a definite whiff of marshmallow. Maybe that's just a suggestion from the fire (note to self - buy marshmallows...). Strength increase along with flavour - burnt toast, bitter dark choc (the good sort) - really smooth and full smoke. But it diminishes again in final third with pepper again and some suggestion of fruit (unripe strawberry?). Finishes with another change of pace and my interest picks up as it ends. If it was a bit longer I wonder where it would have gone..? All in all a very pleasant hour by the fire with an interesting new cigar. Oh, and of course I was wearing a hat. My wife says I look ridiculous in it, to which I smile and say "I know and I like it. That's the point". Happy smoking FoH, happy smoking. Sent from my ActionMan walkie-talkie 8 1
dshapiro Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 (edited) Cohiba Robusto from September 2011. RAL box code. My birthday is 9/11 so this cigar is very special to me. It’s smokes beautifully and has a little age on it. Cohiba DNA all the way through. Have a great weekend everyone. ????? Forgot to add the pic of me and the cigar. I’m out. Edited September 15, 2018 by dshapiro No picture of me smoking the cigar. 2

Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted September 15, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 15, 2018 Lit up a Mar ‘18 Connie A from our host at my family’s vineyard in Green Valley of the Russian River AVA. I had drunkenly bought this box, and since it hit the 30 day mark in my humidor I decided to light her up before spending the next few days on the pacific chasing late season hog King Salmon. It opened up with a blast of spicy cream, then settled into an interplay of cream, vanilla and sweetness, with some stone fruit in the back ground. As it moved into the second third, anise appears with the stone fruit in the background. The draw is on the open side with massive plumes of rich smoke that you can chew on. Not much changes in the second third which isn’t a problem, this cigar is everything I wanted it to be! 5
JoeyBones777 Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 A Jun 17 Connie 1. Draw and burn are pretty much spot on. Flavors are classic upmann. Cake doughnut/shortbread type sweetness, light baking spice, toasted tobacco and creamed coffee. Paired with black coffee. 2
Drguano Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 I had an excellent H. Upmann Mag 48 (GUL AGO 09) on the porch with the cats this morning. Might be me all time favorite cigar. Loads of Upmann flavor. So good, I was trying to get every bit I could until I dropped the nub into the chair crevasse and burned the piss out of my finger trying to extract it before I set the chair on fire. 3
Stump89 Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Just got done cooking some chicken on the grill with some friends. Sharing a few cheapie Fonseca kdt and relaxing. 1
Popular Post cookj1 Posted September 16, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 16, 2018 Sept 15 is always a special day for me so a special cigar is always in order. Today, I pulled out a Ramón Allones Libano regional Phoenicio from 2008. Sitting against the backdrop of the British Columbia fjords at Porteau Cove, I sparked up this cigar. The wrapper is dark and oily and the Highland Park Einar is the perfect compliment to this Sublime sized cigar. The smoke bellows perfectly from this finely rolled cigar. Having only previously smoked this cigar once when it first came out, I can say the 10 years of age have been remarkable as the flavours are in complete balance. I’m getting a surprisingly vegetal spine with some hints of roasted peanut and green tea. The burn is razor sharp and the draw is impeccable. The flavours are full and linger long. I’m having a hard time smoking this cigar slowly it’s so delicious. I’ve always enjoyed the Ramón Allones regionals and this cigar reaffirms my thinking. The Estupendos was one of my favourite regionals but the Phoenicio has now taken the honour. This has been one highly enjoyable hour. It’s my daughter’s birthday today and there’s no better way to reflect proudly. 7
