I like everything from 28-54 I really liked the monte 520 but the 55rg was just huge. I used to smoke the brickhouse 6x60 but I now prefer the 6x52.

My favorites are corona gordas and robustos, but do like smaller smokes also I burn alot of Petit corona variations like Bpc, Shorts, Reyes, siglo 1s. The smallest are exqusitos.

I have only 3 types over 50 gage, Siglo VI and BHK 52s, 54s, but don't smoke alot of those as cost and time commitments come in to play. For me, they are my Special occasion sticks. I try to keep Coros as specials also, but can't seem to stay out of them!

Pyramids are the largest ring I smoke, and the 520s as soon as they arrive.

For me 50 ring gauge is about as big as is comfortable to smoke. Really enjoy the petit corona size as there are much less burn issues and they are a nice happy medium. Cuba is obviously targeting the American cigar smoker with their fatter ring gauge cigars. Here in the states the NC cigar companies must think bigger is better with 60 ring gauge and bigger. These do not appeal to me and I hope it is a fad that will be short lived.

The Montecristo 520 at 55 ring gauge was still a bloody good cigar! But when it comes to 60 ring gauge I just wonder about uneven burning. I like my smokes to be between 42 to 52 ring gauge.

38-46 is ideal for me. I'll go up to 52s on occasion, but it's not often I reach for them.

it seems now a days a 50 rg cigar is a standard size...which is sad cause the long and skinnies are my preferred choice imo

You know me, Guy - 42 Ring gauge Lonsdales and Coronas are my preference!

That said, I've smoked up to 60 RG in the past. Anything over 50-52 is a rare occasion for me, but I do enjoy Sublimes-sizes and the BHK 54 I tried.

44-56 is my preferred range depending on mood and time available.

I don't mind the larger ring gauge sizes however only as an aside from the regular (Maximum 52 RG).

Having said that, I do have quite a few NC's that are up to 60RG (Camacho Triple Maduro) and I enjoy these but only as a change to the norm.

Normally anything from 33 to 52 RG, but if it's a really great cigar it's more about the flavor than about the size and that's why I don't mind a few exceptions like a Monte 520 or Cohiba PE.

I think the bottom line is that it needs to be a good cigar from a good box from a good source

I've really enjoyed some coronas gordas recently ie: Mag 46 from 08, Lonsdales: VR Classicos 99, and especially like the size of Corona Grande which is very classy and elegant

However, I had an amazing R&J Duke last week and a very good Monte Gran Edmuno

Bring on all sizes as long as they're good

I tend to stick to Robusto or Toro sized cigars so most of my sticks are around the 50rg mark

I like all sizes but for me to reach for anything over a 55rg it has to be pretty decent.

I do enjoy the My Uzi Weighs A Ton 6x60 though

I know that a lot of you smoke N.C.'s ,I would like to know, how many of you smoke cigars that are

more then +50 ring gauge.I for one can't smoke bigger then 50 ring gauge ,as hard as I try ,I can't.

I looked at a catolog recently I saw a lot of cigars that would be of interest but they were all more then 52

ring gauge,so, I would like to know, Is It ME or what ? Even the Cubans are starting. Is It the new standard ? Are we going to +70 soon ? Real jawbreakers.

Guy

Guy! So good to see your post! Sorely missed brother!

For me it tops out at around 52. And I dont smoke many of those often. It appears the public finds the "jawbreakers" to their likeing for some reason. The reason escapes me. :lol3:

I try to avoid over 50 RG's...unless its an exellent LE like the 520 or other exeptional cigars...Cuba seems to be trending towards the larger RG's for their RE's and LE's. However as much as there are HUGE RG cigars in the NC market, there is also a much larger selection of corona gorda's and lanceros as well. ..something for everyone.

CHeers Guy!

I'm more of a flavour guy, so size just doesn't bother me. I love Robustos - probably make up half my stash. Edmundos, Monte 520s are great. So are HDM Des Dieux at a 42 RG.

I enjoy different CCs in different violas and different strengths for different occasions. Maybe I'm just different.

Hardly ever. I have the occassional 54 ring guage, but I stick to the 46-50 ring guage cigars. If it's bigger than 54 it has to be one I am really intersted in trying....

40-46 for the norm here...with the odd 48-50 for something special

Belicoso or Piramide is the only time I go bigger since the chomping end is smaller :)

I really miss all the great lonsdales, and other thin cigars that were around.

Oh well I don't smoke much non-cuban other than Padron and they still make small cigars at least.

Robustos and Double Coronas are 2 of my favourite Vitolas, so I smoke 52 ring gauge quite a lot.

Robustos are 50, DCs 49. DCs are about as fat a ring as I like, though I picked up 10 of the Edmundo Dante 54s just because the 109s were so good. Don't like them too thin either. Cohiba CEs are about as thin as I go. Guess 42 is my favorite gauge.

I'm not a fan of the trend in super fat cigars. 48 ring gauge is plenty fat for me and I'm a fan of 46 rg down to the skinnies. That said, when I smoke a giant fatty like the Monte Sublime or a Siglo 6 I punch rather than cut the foot. This helps a lot, I don't have to 'open wide' to enjoy the smoke.

There are a few exceptions for me but I prefer skinnier ring gauge between 30-48 (favorite sizes are lancero, churchill, and petit corona/corona), I only go over 50-52 if I really want to try the cigar, but I don't enjoy breaking my jaw all that often ;)

And ya I have some NCs with 60 ring gauge I was gifted once but for me this new large rg is unappealing and I hope this trend dies down!
