Some recent smokes: 2021 QdO CC in Cortona, Italy. 2015 Bolivar Tubos No. 1 in Athens, Greece. 2010 La Flor de Cano Short Robusto UK Regional on our last night in Athens. Yum! Was going to put up Christmas lights. Smoked a 2019 Siglo III instead. 2022 LGC Glorias. Managed to get my grubby little paws on some of these in Brussels. My first LGC. Good smoke. Really sweet and light in the first half, almost concerningly so as I couldn't see much room for improvement or development. The second half got young and hot. From what I've read, La Gloria Cubana cigars are known for developing sweetness in long term aging. What's the flavor profile and body of a young LGC blend that makes you say, "Bingo, this box is going to age really well"?14 points

Since Yoon Sukyeol rose to the power, my country keeps going south with consecutive tragic disasters like Seoul Halloween crowd crush due to his poor governance. Even worse, he didn't even do a proper public apology and instead, he decided to blame others including victims for Seoul Halloween crowd crush, which made me more upset. So, I and my mum went to Candlelight protest against Yoon Sukyeol and Kim Keonhee yesterday. Despite the distance (took more than a hour as I got lost in Noryangjin Station) and cold weather, I felt glad that I took part in peaceful Candlelight Vigil since many people joined there in the cause of justice regardless of age and gender. I'm definitely participating in the next Candlelight protests for sure! Note. Unable to take many pics because my phone was almost ran out battery10 points

The thing that makes holding the WC in Qatar different, at least to some, is the direct connection between human rights violations and the competition. The stadiums, with one lone exception, and nearly all other infrastructure to support the tournament were built just over the past decade, and built by migrant workers, many of whom were subjected to inhumane working conditions, in some cases forbidden from leaving the country, and in others the unaccounted for deaths of more than ten thousand of the workers. I think that's what makes it especially hard to separate the human rights issues from the sporting competition in this particular case. At the very least, attention deserves to be focused on FIFA and the host selection process, which in the case of a winning nation being wholly unprepared for the event in terms of existing infrastructure and logistics, is generally thought to have involved the exchange under the table of enormous sums of money. For me, at least, it's still possible to enjoy the competition for the pure sport and worldwide engagement of it. There's nothing else quite like it, outside of maybe the Olympic Games.5 points

Choix Supreme. First few I had from the box were dreadful - so much so I started almost giving them away every chance I could. Returned to the same box six months later and was bowled over by how good they were. Huge regret in smoking ROTT and not giving the cigar a chance to settle down.3 points

sadly, not a perfect world (which is i guess why people use sport for issues). just is never going to happen. we have seen tennis officials cave in at the slightest opposition. so many examples. as a kid, i was horrified that the south african cricket tour of australia was cancelled by our govt because of apartheid. ditto a rugby tour. too young to understand the bigger issues. in retrospect, the sporting bans undoubtedly played a significant part in helping to end apartheid. bit hard to oppose that sort of political interference. i imagine a lot of us were impressed by, and supportive of, the actions of the iranian team in protesting the actions of their govt and the crackdown. do we get to pick and choose? perfect world, sport would be pure and untouched. but the reality is that politics are part of life and sport and that is not going to change.3 points
