Fishing on Sunday in the surf. Tonight I'm taking my 21 year old nephew to play his first gig in a blues rock band. He will do well. Smoke some stogies this weekend and try and chase down some money. I am buying a new Led TV so I may shop around tomorrow for that.9 points

Well, I love cigars, and when having a cigar often a drink to go with it - but even though I enjoy ir, I dont see it as part of super healthy lifestyle , that I want to pass on - but that is problably a matter of tradition and different culture how that is perceived. The most likely way to have my kids catch interest in cigars would problably be if they started smoking cigarettes - and at the same time cigarette smoking could be a potential outcome of smoking cigars that I wouldnt want for anyone. hope that doesnt offend anyone but though i have a liking for both cigars and alcohol I wouldnt push it on anyone. Plan to buy my kids fishing poles, so they can share one of my other hobbies 😊8 points

Based on multiple experience of great people with specific hobbies hoping it get picked up by their kids, I would humbly suggest one should enjoy their own and have realistic expectation for others. Cigars, like other of the less popular hobbies, are unlikely to be picked up by one's kids... Anectdotal circumstances do occur though6 points

I would select two boxes for the purpose you suggest. One could be your favorite mild and flavorful cigars that serves as a suitable introductory smoke. If it fits your taste, Epi 2 has been a gateway stick for many - was for me many years ago. The other box could be one of your ‘top of the tree’ cigars that age well. Nothing to lose and everything to gain with this approach. Meaning, if cigar smoking isn’t to the liking of your son/daughter, you have a couple of well-aged boxes of your favorite cigars on both end of the range to enjoy.5 points

Off to have a Saturday lunch and beers with a mate. Need it after trying to join the craziness of obtaining a swatch/omega colab speedmaster watch today in Hong Kong.5 points

Watching the Dubai World Cup races early tomorrow. Oaklawn, Gulfstream, and Fairgrounds races in the afternoon. College hoops to finish the day. Lots of cigars going down.5 points

Not much more to add. Reynaldo as it's usually spelled (Reinaldo as he spells it himself). Another Cuban person many of us know has gone. I can't confirm anything but he is in Cancun now working in the LCDH there with the rumours that he has moved his family over and bought a car (usually a sign of "settling" somewhere) When I was in Havana in November, the Hotel Conde de Villanueva was closed entirely, not just the shop. Again, rumours are that it is still closed. I didn't know him well but he was always very friendly and accommodating. I would wish him the best of luck with any new opportunities. I'll miss seeing him in Havana, I had some great mornings/afternoons in his shop. These Reinaldos were the first custom rolls I ever bought in Cuba, in 2010. I still have some of those. I had no idea how much they were then when I was buying them. The Salomones were $6 each in 2010. Prices never went up very much.4 points

What's up for the weekend? My kids/partners, Di and I are off to Maniax today for some axe throwing before a long lunch together at Golden Pig. This is to celebrate a few birthdays (Mine/Ben's/Becky) that have occured over the past month or are upcoming. Steak lunch tomorrow ar The Norman for Di's son Todd's birthday before he heads back to New Zealand Monday. Busy weekend!4 points

I had commented on @JohnS review on the RG Perles that I had recently received a box but had never tried one. Today I opened the MAE JUL 15 box that I got around the middle of February to try my first one. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it with my Americano. I’d say John’s tasting notes were very accurate to what I experienced but where he commented on them being mild, I found mine more medium and then even a bit more so towards the end. Overall an enjoyable afternoon cigar when your taking a quick break. If the other 24 smoke this well I’ll be very pleased and be sure to keep some on hand.3 points
