'15 Bolivar Libertador (as usual I forgot to check the box when I pulled it out to get the specifics) paired with a Block House Pumpkin Ale. A little early in the year for this beer to be on the shelves but wth why not. Cigar is great. As for the combo together im still trying to taste it out. Imo a couple fingers of Lagavulin 16 yr scotch would have paired much better with this cigar in particular. And, this ale would be better served with a RASS or maybe even a PSD or PSE. Nevertheless, still a formidable pairing. Have a good week all. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk15 points

Sunday of a long weekend and had a great day. SOM SEP 15 Punch Punch from a cab. Great as always and enjoyed it with a frozen mojito. Dinner was some large bone in Ribeye’s with Alaskan King Crab Legs and a great 2006 Dead Arm Shiraz. Still a few years of good life left in these. Nice char in the steaks and rare on the inside. I had a Siglo IV picked out for tonight but after that great dinner decided to grab a LBT MAY 12 Siglo VI and it was outstanding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk15 points

QdO Coronas Claro ETP AGO 16. 5 days in to vacation down in the Turks& Caicos and this is the standout of the bunch. Really coming together at the 3 year point. Just want to punch myself for only getting a sixer of these last year when the boxes were up for the taking before the rebrand. On a positive note, still have 4 left.14 points

August 5th is never a day I look forward too or want to see since 2016 onward. If I'm honest with y'all it's a day I dread since my dad passed away in 2016. I miss my dad, and it that feeling is more painful on his anniversary of his passing. He was in such pain at the end and his passing was actually a blessing from a certain perspective. But that doesn't change how I still miss the rounds of golf, the track meets we worked, and the conversations we had. I can still hear him telling me "Don't get stuck in the past and move forward." He said that to me about 2 weeks before he passed away. He's right, getting stuck in the past and losing the present and future isn't going to do me any good and it'd be dishonoring him in a way. But for today, and the past couple August 5ths and all future ones, I take it off from work. Go golfing in the morning, try to stay focused (and fail), and then eventually wind up on the deck with an adult beverage and cigar. So the drink today is one of the first releases Kilchoman ever made. I'm an Islay loving peathead and absolutely love everything this distillery releases. Cigar is a Partagas Presidente (ALO AUG16). After the first puff of the cigar I raised the glass, thanked my dad for everything he did and his influence in my life. Then for the next hour and a half I sat in quiet contemplation and remembered the good times we had. It still sucks that he isn't around, but Dad, this one was for you. Thanks again!13 points

Diplomáticos No.2 EML Ago 2014 This is the second Diplomaticos No.2 I've had from this box soon after I had my first a few days ago. Again, although it was just on 5 years rested, there was plenty of flavour and smoke to be had, and construction was absolutely faultless. In fact, I'd go 'out-on-a-limb' and admit that this cigar was the most capsicum (or bell pepper) rich Dip 2 I've ever had in my life. Coupled with the paprika spice, which was evident in spades, the sourdough barely got a look-in over 90 minutes of smoking. In comparison to recent TOS 16/17 Diplomaticos No.2 I've enjoyed I've found these two EML 14 examples a lot more savoury and more 'punchy' in flavours. I'm now curious to examine a third from the box, as I'm inclined in my preferences to go for milder examples of Habanos cigars when I get the opportunity, yet paradoxically I don't mind too much when cigars are 'punchy' in their flavours like this either.8 points

Cohiba Secretos (circa 2008 thanks @Trevor2118!) I'd like to thank @Trevor2118 for this 2008 Cohiba Secretos as this Maduro 5 Reyes still packed a punch of flavour even though it was over 10 years aged. Like my previous aged Secretos around six months ago, its intensity has rescinded with age, so it's now a nice medium-strengthed smoke. The chocolate and coffee still dominate, with some Cohiba grass/hay in its spine and some nice floral notes on the edges.7 points

This morning I read Rob's text 24:24 and was very touched when he wrote about his parents. Maybe you want to write a picture or some text when you smoke a cigar and think about your parents or someone who meant a lot to you in life - alive or dead. This cigar is for my parents - unfortunately dead - Oldie but goldie. Miss you ?6 points

Epi #2 .... Picture doesn’t really do it justice. Sheen with a capitol S. Beautiful stick feels perfect in the hand and draw is perfect. Barley clipped it and just perfect ! Burn and construction spot on. Lots of clove and sweet wood/tobacco. Not really getting the sugar but still young. Smoke output is flawless really a heart great smoke. Burn got a bit wonky as it was over 95 and super humid here so understandable. Pretty consistent valor profile. Cream came towards the end and it finished well. I would say solid 88-90. Very good cigar. And glad I many more to let sleep and round out that sugar I am hoping for. Cheers6 points

Been a while since I pulled from this box. Honestly, smelled like a wet dog when I opened the box, and at 64%rh too. But the draw was perfect with moderate resistance. I wet the wrapper and waited 10 minute to fire it up. Immediately got that familar cream and cedar flavor. Great smoke production. Razor sharp burn. Draw opened after the first 1/3d and cream increased. No real hourney with this cigar. Just copious smoke and a good helping of cream and cedar with faint white pepper traces through to the end. Definitely glad I have this little 10ct box onhand. Lit the dinner fire at the last 1/3rd and an element of Kingsford entered the mix interspersed with faint mesquite. Still a great smoke.5 points

UAO ENE 18. I know I mentioned this in the past, but I smoked one of the dark wrapper Talismans the other day, and these Talismans with the light wrappers taste so different to me. The light wrapper ones are so much more enjoyable. It is not just a matter of different shades of the same wrapper either. They are clearly two different types of wrappers. The dark ones have a predominately “EL flavor”, that I seem to get in most EL’s regardless of the Marca. But the light ones are pure Cohiba. Cohiba on steroids would best describe it. The intense flavor in this cigar is blowing me away right now. And the ironic thing is, I chose to open this box now, because I thought the “18” made it the least marketable if I ever want to sell some. The rest all have 17 box codes. But if I ever do sell some, it wont be the light wrapper boxes. I enjoy them too much to let go of them. All of the light wrapper ones that I have seen are UAO, but not all UAO are light wrappers. From my collection, it seems the pattern is, that they started using the light wrappers on UAO boxes some time in Sept 17 and used them at least through January of 18. Or perhaps, I just got lucky with those particular boxes? 2 X UAO AGO 17 - Both dark. 2 X UAO SEP 17 - One dark, One light. UAO OCT 17 - Light 2 X UAO DIC 17 - Both light UAO ENE 18 - Light 2 X LRG DIC 17 - Both dark (I feel this topic deserves Some discussion. I would like to hear other opinions, so I copied and pasted this post to it’s own thread.) CoRo5 points

2015 Lusitania Started my round with a 2017 San Juan and it was blander than bland...so I chucked it to a friend sans cigar in the group behind me and he was grateful... Then I switched to an old standby which was delightful...2017 Connie A Bespoke...these guys make really good stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

(side note: the first Cuban cigar I really wanted to try was a HdM Epi 2, it just appealed to me, and funny enough I have never experienced such a strong sugar cane flavor as I did in that cigar, its almost the flavor I am chasing to find again the most, have never experienced it since and that was 5+ years, ago, it was amazing how strong it was, almost too sweet but blew my mind I was tasting that in a cigar) So here goes on my maiden review: Enjoyed this cigar on a walk around the West Town neighborhood of Chicago on a beautiful summer day, 78 degrees, 10am. First third: felt a saltiness on the lips that was quiet pleasant, helped contribute to a nice nuttiness flavor that held present for the first third, along with some of the ever present twang on the retro, the cigar felt medium throughout the first. Second: the saltiness tamped back, almost dissappeared completely except for a few random hints at the beginning of the second. A coffee bean flavor made an appearance along with a very pleasant cookie sweetness which I got through the retro, which actually is one of the more refined flavors I have gotten through a retrohale, which was very enjoyable. Nuttiness returned towards the end along with a touch of cinnamon, with the body ramping up to a very full medium. Final third began to lose the refined flavors and fall into earthier and woody flavors, a very tolerable finish. I am excited about this box, some great, clear flavors, construction wasn't great but never an issue. This cigar left me wanting another, right now, actually. 91, scratch that, 92.4 points

Oddly this is the first cigar I've ever had with coffee. For some reason they never sounded good together even though I love them individually. I'm quite liking it! This Party E2 EOT DIC 2016 is starting to shape up quite nicely after some down time. Enjoying it with some Drambui (I know, please don't judge me too harshly. Have you ever wondered what nations Regional Editions represent? If you do, you aren't alone! I've assembled this Reference Topic after @Fugu added some more information to my 2019 Smoking Blog in regards the history of the 5ta Avenida Distributor (thank you kindly!) this weekend. I'd also like to acknowledge @Trevor2118 and @ATGroom for their work at Cuban Cigar Website for this information. Finally, where possible, I've utilised information from the Exclusive Distributors links from Habanos S.A's website. Regions above in bold itialics indicate where I have made 'best guesses' due to limited information. Please feel free to add your knowledge to this topic below.4 points

Hoyo du Maire, when I started to smoke cigars the du Maire was one of my first boxes I bought. Along with the ERDM Demitasse. both are Entreactos = Between the theatrical acts. The Demitasse is more box pressed and looks thicker. Both are equal. If you don't have the time for a big cigar but you desire is more than a cigarillo than these two are the right choice. Cold draw reminds my of vanilla cookies. A bit of resistance. Loads of cocoa and cream. It really reminds me of a Montecristo ? The after taste is wood and a warm mouth feeling. Love the little bugger. Quite often I smoke them in my lunch break with a espresso.3 points
