Romeo y Julieta Churchills ASO Nov 2016

This Romeo y Julieta Churchills continued a fine recent tradition of delivering a quality outcome since at least 2016.  Again, what I have loved about it is its consistent delivery of mild, yet complex flavours. Flavours such as chocolate or cocoa, toasted tobacco (at times), cherry (or berries/fruit), anise (or licorice sweetness), rosewater and turkish delight. At three years of age, this cigar yet again started off with a huge hit of cherry and turkish delight from the 'get-go'. In the middle third it picked up some anise sweetness and rosewater, in the last third there was stronger hints of cocoa/chocolate. This was similar to my last RyJ Churchill from this box smoked two months ago.

One point of difference I found in comparison to other numerous RyJ Churchills I've smoked in the last 24 to 36 months was the slight presence of spice on the palate. It was simply so subtle, yet invigorating until the end. There was a consistent delivery of just enough to cause a tingle, which no doubt influenced me to nub it.
 
As I said the last time I smoked a cigar from this box, it's very easy to understand why El Pres included a Romeo y Julieta Churchill in the 2019 Xmas Sampler for many of you to enjoy. It's not because Sir Winston Churchill helped to make this an iconic cigar, rather it's because lately it's been an excellent cigar.

Stolen Throne Robusto thanks @Thirds  41 minutes for first ash to drop. Cocoa, coffee, sweet toasted tobacco, taste that lingers on the pallet is almost brown sugar with paprika.  Not a pepper bomb at all. Maybe medium. Draw and burn flawless. Really nice cigar. One of the best I have smoked all year if I am being honest and it’s a nc 93 all day !

I haven’t smoked one in a while either and that’s why I pulled it out. Very enjoyable and a great follow up to that Connie A. They’re bold little cigars. TOS seems like it was a good code. Definitely pull one out when you get a chance.

Esplendido last night. Picked up from 24:24 in 2018, was cardboard pack of 3. Have lost the paper that recorded the date and code on unfortunately. Suspect it was from 2018. Enjoyable but will happily leave the other 2 from the same box for another 2 years rest.

Brothers and Sisters of the Leaf, I have to say.....these LGC Med d Oro #4 are a damn fine smoke with a Mocha Latte or the coffee of your choice!  Exquisite combination!

TPO OCT 18   My first one of these. I was super excited to try them. Meh. Maybe they need a lot more rest, but I wasnt all that impressed, especially for the price. Sad face. Shall put the other singles I have away for a while. 

I had the same impression when I first tried a box of those Maduro #1s. But they really seemed to turn the corner after a few years; try them back down the road hopefully they will improve like mine did.

Past couple nights all fantastic in there own. I've been really stressed recently, so I've hardly had the time too smoke let alone post, but i feel a bit more relaxed tonight despite having to work the weekend. Either way tonight i'm smoking this tasty '12 Trinidad Coloniales paored with a Pabst Blue Ribbon Extra beer... What PBR yeah i know right, but this PBR Extra is actually pretty damn tasty and I am a beer snob so.. . Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
